EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 21, 2021) – The Mount St. Mary's men's water polo returns to Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference East action this Friday when they battle Navy in Annapolis.
MOUNT UPDATE
Mount St. Mary's went 1-3 at the Harvard Invite, with the victory coming against Connecticut College Sunday. 10 different Mountaineers scored in the win and three players registered hat tricks.
The Mount stands at 6-13 on the year with a 1-3 mark in MAWPC play.
Jason O'Donnell continues to lead in goal count (69) and steals, while
Eli Thalos maintains his lead in assists.
Marko Kruska needs 10 saves to reach 200 for the season.
SCOUTING NAVY
Navy's 8-10 record is deceiving as the Midshipmen have faced a daunting schedule. Nine of the 10 defeats came at the hands of nationally ranked opponents. In MAWPC East play they are 3-1 with wins over Wagner, Johns Hopkins and Bucknell.
Leading scorer Isaac Salinas has 37 goals this season, with his latest tally marking 200 for his career.
ALL-TIME SERIES
This is the first meeting between Mount St. Mary's and Navy, but not the Mount's first trip to Annapolis. Kicking off this year the Mountaineers played in the Navy Invite, facing four teams.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Next weekend, Mount St. Mary's travels to Bucknell (Oct. 30) before their long-awaited home opener against George Washington (Oct. 31).
