Men’s Water Polo Heads to Beantown for Final Tournament of Season

TOURNAMENT CENTRAL
 
EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 15, 2021) – Opportunities to pick up victories and snap a brief two-game slide are available for Mount St. Mary's water polo this weekend as they travel to the Harvard Invite in Massachusetts.
 
All games are streamed live on ESPN+ for paid subscribers.  
 
MOUNT UPDATE
 
The Mount stands at 5-10 for the year with a 1-3 mark in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference East. After defeating Johns Hopkins on September 25th, the Mountaineers fell victim to Fordham and Wagner on a New York trip last weekend.
 
Jason O'Donnell continues to be the leading scorer with 58 goals and led the team in scoring during each of the first four conference games. The sophomore also tallies the most steals with 47, while senior Eli Thalos leads in assists with 27.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
 
The four teams the Mount will face possess a combined record of 25-21, with Harvard holding the best mark of 13-2. Brown is 9-8, bringing a balanced attack anchored by 30 goals from Connor Enright. Miller Gerschke has 31 goals for MIT, but the Engineers have struggled to a 3-8 record. Connecticut College is 0-3 on the year.  
 
ALL-TIME SERIES
 
Mount St. Mary's has not faced any of the four opponents in their brief history.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
The team returns to MAWPC play on October 22nd at the U.S. Naval Academy.
