MOUNT UPDATE
The Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse team was dropped by #20 Richmond their last time out on Waldron Family Stadium. The Spiders used a 6-1 fourth quarter to pull away from the Mountaineers 14-7. Ryan Lanchbury led Richmond with four goals and two assists. Kelly Gouin recorded his third hat trick of the season while Luke Frankeny was able to put home two goals of his own. Dylan Furnback had a solid day in net making 15 saves while Sam Stephan went 12-for-21 at the X with ten groundballs.
SCOUTING THE UTES
Utah flies into Saturday's matchup on a two-game winning streak after defeating Furman (17-9) and Jacksonville (15-11) to give themselves a winning record at 3-2. The Utes' two losses came at the hands of Lehigh (16-11) and Air Force (9-8). The talented Utah offense is led by Fairfield transfer Colin Burke (12g, 16a) and Robert Morris transfer Jimmy Perkins (17g, 2a). These two have combined for 47 of the 109 points that the Utah offense has registered. At the X, freshman Cole Brams has recorded .573 faceoff percentage and picked up 37 groundballs. Liam Donnelly has been solid in net posting 11.06 goals against average and making 50 saves in his five starts.
INSIDE THE SERIES
With this only being Utah's second season as a Division I men's lacrosse program, the Mountaineers are now set to meet the Utes in both of their first two years. The first meeting came last year when the Mount took a break in their conference schedule to fly out and play at the University of Utah. The Mountaineers were able to top Utah 16-15 off of Jared McMahon's game-winner with just 1:40 remaining. Brenden McCarthy and Chris DiPretoro combined for 13 points to power the Mount St. Mary's offense. The Mount trailed as much as six in the contest but outscored the Utes 8-5 down the stretch to secure the victory.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Next on the Mountaineer schedule will be a date with Johns Hopkins on Tuesday, March 10th at 6:00 p.m. on Homewood Field in Baltimore. This will be the Mount men's lacrosse team's last non-conference matchup before opening up Northeast Conference play on the road next weekend.
