Box Score San Diego, Calif. (February 29, 2020)—The Mount St. Mary's softball team fell to CSUN, 7-0, on Saturday at the San Diego Classic.
The Matadors scored single runs in the first, third and fourth innings to take a 3-0 advantage. Jaymi Steward had an RBI single for CSUN in the first, and the Matadors added unearned runs in the third and fourth. CSUN took control with a three-run fourth inning.
Amanda Berkley started for the Mount (0-11), allowing two runs (one earned) in two-plus innings of work. Avery Neuhart came on in relief in the top of the third, and allowed four runs (two earned) in three innings. Jordan Weaver pitched the final two innings, allowing four runs (one earned).
Kate Wade had the lone hit for the Mount on the day.
Mount St. Mary's rounds out competition in the San Diego Classic with games against St. John's and San Diego tomorrow.
