ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mount began the 2019 season taking one out of three games against Lehigh played at Calvert Hall High School. A seven-run fourth inning propelled the Mount St. Mary's baseball team to an 8-6 win over Lehigh on Saturday in the season opener. Pitchers Trey McGough and Michael Kuypers combined for 10 strikeouts in the win. Mount St. Mary's dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Lehigh on Sunday. Lehigh jumped out to a 10-0 lead and held on for a 10-5 victory in game one of Sunday's doubleheader. Sean Flynn pitched four innings of scoreless relief for the Mountaineers in the game. The Mount rallied from a three-run deficit to even the score at 4-4, but Lehigh used a five-run eighth inning to secure a 9-4 victory in game two of the twinbill. Myles Nicholson went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer to pace the Mount in the game.
