SCHEDULE UPDATE: The Mount's doubleheader at Robert Morris set for Saturday, April 8, has been postponed due to the weather. The make-up date is Saturday, May 6, with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
MOUNT UPDATE: Rachel Heinze went 4-for-6 with five RBI as the Mountaineers split a doubleheader at Morgan State on Tuesday. Heinze hit a three-run home run and Sam Lichtner earned the win, allowing one run in 5.2 innings of work in a 4-3 win in game one. Heinze went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles in the second game, but Morgan State scored nine runs in the bottom of the fourth to rally for an 11-6 win. Heinze leads the Mount with a .389 average, eight home runs, 32 runs scored and 23 RBI. Licthner is 7-5 with a 3.67 ERA in 17 appearances (14 starts).
ABOUT THE KNIGHTS: Fairleigh Dickinson split a doubleheader with UMass on Wednesday to improve to 2-17 on the season. The Knights are 0-2 in NEC play, dropping a home doubleheader to Saint Francis U, and will play Wagner on Saturday. Reanna Cervantes leads the team with a .382 average while Kellie Natham is hitting .292 with a team-high 12 RBI. Madison Emerson is 0-5 with a 5.41 ERA in 32.1 innings pitched to lead the pitching staff.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES WITH FDU: Mount St. Mary's is 17-13 all-time against Fairleigh Dickinson in the series that began in 2001. The Mount has lost five in a row to the Knights, including a pair of one-run defeats at FDU last season. Mount St. Mary's is 7-7 at home all-time in the series, and the Mount's last win over FDU was a 1-0 victory on April 13, 2014.
