MOUNT UPDATE: Mount St. Mary's dropped a pair of games to Northeast Conference leader Saint Francis U on Sunday to fall to 14-23 overall and 4-4 in the NEC. Lindsay Heinze went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo home run in the Mount's 6-1 loss in the opening game. The Mount was held to one hit in a 3-0 loss in the second game. Rachel Heinze leads the Mount with a .382 average, 10 home runs, 29 RBI and 37 runs scored while Lindsay Heinze is hitting .357 with a team-high 10 doubles. Sam Lichtner is 9-6 with a 3.50 ERA in 21 appearances (18 starts) to pace the pitching staff.
ABOUT COPPIN STATE: The Eagles enter Tuesday's matchup with a 5-32 record after falling in both games of a doubleheader against Drexel on April 13. The Eagles are 3-6 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Cayla Brown leads the team with a .379 average, nine doubles, three home runs and 24 RBI while Cloe' Ochoa is hitting .320 on the year. Madison Didion is 5-16 with a 6.66 ERA in 23 appearances (22 starts) in the circle.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES: Mount St. Mary's swept a home doubleheader with Coppin State on March 29 to improve to 30-5 all-time against the Eagles. The Mount is 9-4 on the road against the Eagles, including a sweep at Coppin State on March 16 last season.
FIRST MEETING: Sam Lichtner tossed a complete game in the Mount's 4-1 win over Coppin State in the opening game of a doubleheader at the Mount's Our Lady of the Meadows Field on March 29. The Mount scored five times in the bottom of the fifth to rally from a 6-3 deficit in an 8-7 win in game two. Freshman Kaylee Stoner went 4-for-7 with a pair of doubles in the twinbill.
