MOUNT UPDATE:  The Mount is coming off a sweep of Sacred Heart on Sunday at Our Lady of the Meadows Field.  Rachel Heinze's three-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh lifted the Mount to an 8-7 win in the opening game of the doubleheader. Lindsay Heinze hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third to snap a 2-2 tie to propel the Mount to the win in game two. 

ABOUT HOWARD:  Howard enters Tuesday's twinbill with a 5-23 record on the season.  Jasmine Gammons leads the team with a .395 average, six home runs and 22 RBI while Al'Asia Davis is hitting .389 on the year.  Jenessa Flynn leads the pitching staff with a 4.72 ERA in 69.2 innings of work.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:  Mount St. Mary's is 5-1 all-time against Howard in the all-time series that began in 2009.  This will be the team's first meeting since the Mount swept a doubleheader at home on April 8, 2014.  The Mount is 3-1 all-time at home against the Bison.

RACHEL HEINZE AND LINDSAY HEINZE NET NEC WEEKLY HONORS:  Junior outfielder Rachel Heinze collected her second NEC Player of the Week award on Monday while freshman shortstop Lindsay Heinze was named the NEC Rookie of the Week.  Rachel hit .500 with three doubles, two home runs and five runs scored for the Mountaineers last week.  She hit a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Mount to an 8-7 win over Sacred Heart in the opening game of Sunday's doubleheader.  Lindsay hit .444 with two home runs, four runs scored and eight RBI for the Mount last week.  She hit a three-run homer in the opening game against Sacred Heart while her grand slam in game two propelled the Mount to the win.

MOVING UP THE CHARTS:  Junior Rachel Heinze launched her Northeast Conference leading 15th home run of the season against Sacred Heart on Sunday.  Heinze's 15 homers are one shy of the NEC single-season mark of 16 set by Wagner Andrea Lazzari in 2009.  Heinze is tied for ninth in the nation with her 15 long balls while she is sixth with 0.47 home runs per game.  She is three homers shy of matching Liz Christiansen for the Mount's career home run record (25).

THIS AND THAT:  The Mountaineers are 8-10 over the past 18 games, including a 6-2 mark at home...Holly Buckel is hitting .408 with five home runs and 16 RBI over the past 18 games while Marisa Mayes is hitting .438 with 14 runs scored over that stretch...Rachel Heinze is 22-for-57 (.386) with 22 runs scored, six doubles, 11 home runs and 21 RBI over the past 18 games with a 1.070 slugging percentage.
