ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mountaineers went 1-1 this past week, posting a 65-50 victory over Morgan State to kick things off on Tuesday, before falling at fifth-ranked Maryland, 106-42, on Friday. Against Morgan State, Junior center Caroline Hummell dropped a career-high 28 points and 14 rebounds as she collected her second straight double-double to open the season, and grad transfer Mikal Johnson chipped in with 19 points to help lift the Mount to its first win of the year. The Mountaineer defense shut down the Lady Bears in the opening half, holding them without a field goal (0-18) in the first quarter and to just 2-for-33 (6.2-percent) shooting in the half.

SCOUTING FAIRFIELD
The Stags dropped a 56-44 decision to Sacred Heart in their season opener before topping Loyola, 58-57, in overtime and UMass Lowell, 65-41, last time out to improve to 2-1 overall. Kelsey Carey and Casey Smith have carried the team's offense in the early going as the duo is combining for 30 points per game and 13 rebounds a contest.

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Mount and Fairfield will meet for just the fourth time in series history and first time since 2009 in the matchup on Sunday. The stags own a 2-1 advantage after topping the Mount in the most recent meeting, 68-54, in Fairfield. The Mount's lone win in the series was a 66-59 win in Emmitsburg in 2008.
