After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the second, the Mount manufactured two runs in the third to take the lead.

Shea McFarland's (Huntingtown, Pa.) leadoff double was followed by a bunt from Maria Santiago (Buena, N.J.) that resulted in a UMBC error, allowing McFarland to score the first run. Megan Baker (Waynesboro, Pa.) advanced Santiago to third on a sacrifice bunt before Alisuackas delivered an RBI single.

The Retrievers leveled the score at 2-2 with Kelly Lane's RBI single in the fourth inning. UMBC then put the game away with a pair of runs in the fifth with two hits and one Mount error for the 4-2 win.

GAME TWO: Mount St. Mary's 3 – UMBC 1

Lichtner scattered four hits and did not allow a run beyond the second inning in the complete game victory in game two. The sophomore fanned four batters and walked just three in her first win this season.

UMBC took a 1-0 lead into the fourth when the Mount tied things up at 1-1. Rachel Teti (Mt. Airy, Md.) knocked in the run with a sacrifice fly to score Baker, who led off the frame with a double down the left field line.

Alisauckas provided the rest of the offense in the top of the sixth. After Baker picked up a two-out single, Alisauckas knocked a home run over the left field fence to give the Mount the 3-1 lead. Lichtner took care of the rest, not allowing a hit the rest of the way.

Next up, the Mount hosts Siena, Cornell and Albany for a three-day tournament at Our Lady of the Meadows Field on March 20-22.
