1. A strong second half propelled the Mountaineers to a 63-46 win at Central Connecticut on Saturday afternoon. The Mount used a 15-0 run over the first 9:45 of the second half to snap a 32-32 tie and take control of the game. Chris Martin scored all 16 of his points in the first half while Junior Robinson added 13 points in the victory. The Mount held CCSU to 28.6 percent shooting, including 5-of-24 in the second half.
2. The Mountaineers have made 10 or more three-pointers in each of the past three games. In the 63-46 win over CCSU, the Mount was 11-for-22 (.500) from beyond the arc. The Mount leads the NEC with 7.48 three-point field goals made per game.
3. The Mount continues to lead the NEC in scoring defense (60.0), field goal percentage defense (.389) and three-point defense (.279) in league games. In the advanced metrics, Mount St. Mary's is first in defensive efficiency by a wide margin (allowing 90.7 points per 100 possessions) and effective field goal percentage (42.8). Last week, the Mount held Bryant and CCSU to 50.5 points per game and 34.6 percent shooting from the floor.
4. Limiting the three-point shot has been a key part of the Mount's defense this year. In 12 NEC games this year, the Mount's opponents are making just 4.3 three-point field goals per game, hitting 51-of-183 (.279) from beyond the arc.
