The Mount heads to Dover, Del. to take on the Delaware State Lady Hornets in the Mountaineers' first road game of the season on Wednesday, November 18 at 7 p.m.
MOUNT STORYLINES
• Mount St. Mary's opened the season this past Friday against William & Mary at Knott Arena. The Mountaineers nearly erased a 14-point fourth quarter deficit, but eventually fell by a final of 76-74.
• Guard Alexis Carter made her Mount debut in the contest after transferring from Hofstra prior to last season. The junior dropped a team-high 21 points and added seven rebounds and five assists.
• Three other Mountaineers posted double-digit points against William & Mary. Katrice Dickson registered a career-high 16 points, while Jessica Harris dropped 13 and Kaitlyn Eisenhard chipped in with 12.
• The Mount shot 45.8% from the field and made 15-18 free throws (83.3%).
• Mount St. Mary's will face Delaware State for the third time in program history. The Mountaineers earned a 73-64 victory in the meeting last season to even the all-time series up at 1-1. Sarafina Arthur-Williams and Jessica Harris combined for 32 points in the game to pace the Mount.
SCOUTING DELAWARE STATE
• The Lady Hornets fell to West Virginia in their season opener on Saturday, 77-34. Delaware State shot just 23.1% from the field and was outrebounded by a margin of 52-29.
• Bri Justice and N'Kayah Kersey led the Lady Hornets with eight points apiece and Amber Bogard added seven points.
• Delaware State posted a 5-25 record in 2014-15 and fell in the first round of MEAC Tournament to Norfolk State.
