FIRST FIVE
1. Mount St. Mary's rolled to an 82-51 win over visiting Central Connecticut State on Thursday night at Knott Arena. The Mountaineers scored the first 10 points of the game and cruised to the win. Chris Martin scored a career-high 22 points to pace the Mount while Byron Ashe added 11 points. Andrew Smeathers and Junior Robinson eached chipped in 10 each in the victory. Mount St. Mary's had 50 points from its bench in the game, and led by as many as 36 points in the second half.
2. The Mount's 31-point win over Central Connecticut was the biggest margin of victory since a 97-60 win over St. Francis Brooklyn on January 31, 2008.
3. The Mountaineers are averaging 82.5 points over the past two games, hitting 45.5 percent from the field and 76.0 percent at the foul line. The Mount averaged 56.2 points over the first 12 games of the season.
4. After not having a player score 20 or more points over the first 12 games of the season, the Mount has had it occur in each of the past two games. Gregory Graves had a career-high 26 points at Wagner while Chris Martin tallied a career-best 22 points in the home win over CCSU.
5. The Mountaineers will be on the road for six of their next eight games after the tilt with St. Francis Brooklyn. The Mount heads to Fairleigh Dickinson (Jan. 15) and LIU Brooklyn (Jan. 17) next week. The game against the Blackbirds will be played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
