LIVE STATS

MOUNT UPDATE: Mount St. Mary's, currently sitting in second place in the Northeast Conference, hosts a non-conference tilt with Towson on Wednesday afternoon at Our Lady of the Meadows Field. After beating the Tigers, 10-0, last season, the Mount is looking for back-to-back wins over in-state rival Towson for the first time since 2007.

BREAKING RECORDS: On April 19, Mount pitcher Nicole Pagano won her 15th game of the season to break the program's single-season wins record. Last week, the Mount swept LIU behind two Pagano shutouts, including a no-hitter in game one before splitting a doubleheader with Wagner. Pagano was recognized by the Northeast Conference for the third time this season, taking home NEC Co-Pitcher of the Week.

ABOUT TOWSON: The Tigers have won five of their last six games entering Wednesday, most recently taking two of three from Drexel. Towson's high-powered offense has outscored its opponents, 235-193, and features four players hitting .316 or better led by Hailey Balk's .395 average. Last time out in a 5-0 win at Drexel, Maureen Hepner drove in her 45th run of the season to set the school record for single-season RBIs.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. TOWSON: The Mount holds a 7-34-1 all-time record versus Towson, but beat the Tigers by a 10-0 score in five innings last season to snap an eight-game losing streak in the series. Nicole Pagano hurled a complete-game shutout for the Mount, while Liz Christiansen led the offense with two hits and three RBIs. In games played in Emmitsburg, the Mount is 4-17-1 against Towson.

SEVEN-GAME HITTING STREAK: Freshman outfielder Jessica Greenewald has hit safely in seven-consecutive games, which is the longest streak by a Mount player this season. Greenewald leads the team with a .286 batting average.

CLUTCH HOME RUNS: Rachel Gavigan knocked in all four runs in the Mount's April 18 sweep of LIU Brooklyn, picking up home runs in consecutive games. In game one, Gavigan broke a scoreless tie with a three-run shot in the bottom of the fifth in a 3-0 win. Following up in game two, the sophomore captain unleashed her fourth home run of the season over the centerfield fence in the bottom of the fourth in a 1-0 Mount victory.

MOUNT AT THE MEADOWS: The Mount is 8-4 at home this season after going 7-11 at Our Lady of the Meadows Field last spring. In Anna Nagro's four-year tenure at the Mount, the team is 25-34 at home.

CHASING 20: A win over Towson would give the Mount its fifth 20-win season in school history and first since the 2010 campaign. The Mount is also on pace to finish with a winning record for the first time since going 31-25 in 2006. Prior to 2006, the Mount posted winning records in 1983, 1985, 1987 and 1988. The squad also finished .500 in 2010 with a 25-25 mark.

UP NEXT: The Mount heads into a crucial weekend of Northeast Conference play with road doubleheaders scheduled for Saturday, April 26, at first-place Bryant and at third-place Central Connecticut State on Sunday, April 27. CCSU is the reigning NEC Champion.
