OAKLAND 9 – MOUNT ST. MARY'S 4
The Mount dropped the first game of the day by a 9-4 final to Oakland, which built a 7-0 lead through three innings. Two more runs for the Grizzlies had the Mount trailing 9-0 entering the bottom of the seventh.
The Mount loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh and scored when Megan Baker was hit by a pitch to force home Lindsey Ruhle. Casey Beck, who recorded a team-best two hits in the game, knocked in another run with a single up the middle to cut the deficit to 9-2.
With the bases loaded, Holly Buckel and Cat Clifford walked in back-to-back at bats to force in two more runs, but the Mount would not score again in the loss.

MOUNT ST. MARY'S 1 – FLORIDA ATLANTIC 0
An infield single on a close call in the fourth inning was the only hit Pagano gave up on the day as the Mount came away with a 1-0 win over Florida Atlantic in extra innings. In the bottom of the eighth, Baker picked up a walk-off single to left field to score Marisa Mayes for the victory.
Florida Atlantic managed just four base runners on the day on one single, one walk, one fielder's choice and on the international tiebreaker rule, which places a runner on second at the beginning of the extra inning. The Mount's ace, Pagano, recorded seven strikeouts on the day.
Kylee Hanson pitched all seven innings for the Owls, giving up five hits while striking out 12 in the loss.
Both teams were held off the board until the bottom of the eighth. With Mayes on second base due to the tiebreaker rule, Rachel Heinze reached on a bunt to move Mayes to third. Facing a 0-2 count, Baker's RBI single proved to be the difference in the game.
The Mount improves to 3-0 in extra-inning games this season.
The Mount concludes the Under Armour Invitational tomorrow versus Temple at 9 a.m.
