MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount is 3-0 to begin the season for the first time in the program's Division I history. Senior pitcher Nicole Pagano has been dominant with a 2-0 record with two complete games, 16 strikeouts and a 1.50 ERA. At the dish, freshman Rachel Gavigan leads the offense with a .333 batting average with four hits, including the team's only home run through three games.
ABOUT BETHUNE-COOKMAN: The Mount beat the Wildcats, 3-2, to open the season on Feb. 22. Calesha Shelley's .405 batting average leads Bethune-Cookman, which is 1-11 after games in Tampa, DeLand and Jacksonville in Florida.
ABOUT JACKSONVILLE: The Mount was originally scheduled to play the Dolphins last week, but rain forced schedules to be rearranged. Jacksonville is 7-5, most notably beating North Carolina and Maryland twice. The Dolphins two top pitchers have earned run averages under 2.00 with Cecile Gomez posting a 1.65 ERA to lead the staff.
ABOUT NORTH FLORIDA: The Ospreys have been on a roll with wins in five of their last six games. North Florida won the Atlantic Sun regular season championship last season before falling in the championship game of the conference tournament. Four players in UNF's lineup hits .305 or better, while pitcher Cortney Radke is 5-1 with a 0.91 ERA on the year.
ABOUT WESTERN MICHIGAN: The Broncos are 5-6 on the season, most recently picking up two wins at the Tennessee State Tiger Classic against the host, TSU, and Dayton. Western Michigan's top pitcher, Allyson Kus enters the USF Under Armour Invitational with a 4-3 record and five complete games on the season.
ABOUT TOLEDO: Toledo has played all over the United States with tournaments already in Tennessee and Nevada. After a 1-4 start to the season at the UNLV Easton Desert Classic, the Rockets went 2-3 at the Frost Classic in Chattanooga. Three players have compiled 10 hits or more on the year, led by 13 apiece from Alyssa Smith and Jessica Lemieux.
ABOUT OAKLAND: The Grizzlies have used five different pitchers through 10 games with Kaley Waalkes (3.15 ERA) and Erin Kownacki (4.94 ERA) getting a majority of the work. Oakland is 2-7 with wins over Siena and Northern Colorado to its credit.
ABOUT FLORIDA ATLANTIC: The Owls have already played in three tournaments at home, putting together a 7-7 record. Led by Whitley Herb's .391 batting average, Florida Atlantic has wins over Louisville, Ohio State, Maryland and Penn State, among others.
ABOUT TEMPLE: The Owls enter the Under Armour Invitational with a 2-3 record after competing at the Tennessee State Tiger Classic. Kelsey Dominik and Sarah Prezioso were named to the all-tournament team, helping Temple beat Western Michigan twice. Three Temple hitters are batting .400 or better, including Dominik, who leads the team with a .500 batting average.
VERSUS UPCOMING OPPONENTS: The Mount is a combined 1-9 versus opponents on the schedule for the remainder of the Florida trip. First-time opponents for the Mount are Jacksonville, Western Michigan, Toledo, Oakland and Florida Atlantic. The Mount is 0-6 against North Florida, 0-1 versus Temple and 1-2 against Bethune-Cookman.
