FIRST FIVE
1.  Andrew Smeathers hit a pair of free throws with 2.9 seconds left to lift the Mount to a 69-68 victory over Binghamton on Dec. 22.  Chris Martin paced the Mount with 18 points and eight boards in the win while Kristijan Krajina added 14 points and four rebounds.  The Mount led by 14 points early in the second half, only to see Binghamton rally to take its first lead of the game with 13 seconds remaining.  The Mountaineers forced Binghamton into 20 turnovers while grabbing 16 offensive rebounds in the win.

2.  The Mount's point guard duo of freshman Junior Robinson and sophomore Khalid Nwandu have combined to post impressive numbers this year.  The pair is averaging a combined 15.4 points and 5.4 assists over the past five games.

3.  Mount St. Mary's has done a good job of taking care of the basketball this season.  The Mount is averaging 12.1 turnovers per game this year, and just 10.8 turnovers per game over  the past six contests.  Freshman point guard Junior Robinson has 36 assists and 15 turnovers over the past nine games.

4. The Mountaineers are a balanced team in 2014-15 with no player averaging in double figures.  However, the Mount has nine players averaging at least 4.5 points, led by Kristijan Krajina's 8.9 per game.
 
5.  Mount St. Mary's opens Northeast Conference play at Robert Morris on Saturday, January 3, in a rematch of last year's NEC Championship game.  The Mount won that game, 88-71, to secure the school's first NCAA bid since 2008.
