Mount St. Mary's Drops Road Game at Seton Hall

Newark, N.J. (December 2, 2014)—Mount St. Mary's fell to Seton Hall, 78-55, on Tuesday night at the Prudential Center.  Will Miller scored a season-high 13 points to pace the Mountaineers in the loss.

Chris Martin added a season-high 10 points while Gregory Graves also scored 10 points for the Mount in the loss.  Junior Robinson added six assists for the Mount while Kristijan Krajina pulled down a team-best five rebounds.

Khadeen Carrington hit all eight of his field goal attempts for a game-high 16 points for the Pirates.  Angel Delgado added 13 points and nine rebounds with Isaiah Whitehead chipping in 12 points in the win.  Seton Hall shot 64.7 percent (33-of-51) in the victory.

Graves got off to a sizzling start, scoring the Mount's first eight points, including a pair of three-pointers, as the score was tied 8-8 early.  The Mount (1-4) continued to hang tough, trailing 14-13 after a Taylor Danaher bucket with just under 12 minutes left in the half.

Consecutive buckets on the break by Danaher and Kristijan Krajina off feeds from Junior Robinson cut the deficit to 21-17, but the Pirates responded with a 20-2 run to push its lead to 41-19. 

The Mount battled back, closing the first half with a 10-to-4 run to cut Seton Hall's advantage to 45-29 at the half.  Miller scored eight points, including two three-pointers, in the late run.

Seton Hall (6-0) converted 60.0 percent (18-of-30) from the field in the first half while holding a 20-13 edge on the boards.  The Mount hit 5-of-16 (.313) from beyond the arc in the opening half.

The Pirates then took control of the game by opening the second half with a 15-to-3 run to stretch the margin to 60-32 with 14:18 remaining.  From there, the Pirates were able to cruise to the win.

The Mount resumes the most-played rivalry in the state of Maryland on Saturday when it travels to Loyola for the 170th all-time meeting between the two schools. The Mount holds a 97-72 advantage in the series, and the game will air live on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN).

GAME NOTES:   Seton Hall holds a 7-3 lead in the all-time series with the Mount…This was the first meeting between the two schools since Dec. 3, 1988…The Mount is now 0-17 all-time against the Big East Conference.
