FIRST FIVE
1. Mount St. Mary's rallied from a five-point deficit in overtime to earn a 67-64 win against Norfolk State on December 13. The Mount had control for the majority of the game, leading 52-39 with just under nine minutes remaining. Norfolk State rallied with a 14-1 run to tie the game, and then scored the first five points of overtime. Byron Ashe responded by hitting back-to-back three-pointers to give the Mount the lead. Ashe finished with a team-high 15 points off the bench while Junior Robinson added 14 points.
2. The halftime score has been a good indicator on the outcome of the game under head coach Jamion Christian. The Mountaineers are 27-4 when leading at the half under Christian, and just 8-31 when trailing. This season, the Mount is 2-0 at the half when leading, and is 1-5 when trailing.
3. Junior forward Gregory Graves had nine points and 11 rebounds in the Mount's 67-64 overtime win over Norfolk State. Graves has been a key factor in the Mount's wins this season, averaging 11.7 points and 9.0 rebounds in the Mount's three victories. He is averaging 4.8 points and 4.4 boards in the Mount's five losses.
4. Mount St. Mary's is averaging 9.5 three-point field goals made over the past four games. The team hit a season-high 13 three-pointers at Notre Dame, and is currently 11th in the nation in 3-point attempt percentage (3FGA/Total FGA).
5. Mount St. Mary's hosts Binghamton on Monday night at Knott Arena. The Mount lost to the Bearcats, 74-70, at home last season.
