Box Score Winston-Salem, N.C. (November 26, 2014)—Mount St. Mary's lost at Wake Forest, 83-49, at the LJVM Coliseum on Wednesday night. Liam McManimon paced the Mountaineers (1-3) with a career-high 10 points in the loss.
Playing in his home state, freshman guard Junior Robinson, who hails from Mebane, N.C., added nine points and four assists for the Mountaineers. Chris Wray, who hails from Shelby, N.C., added six points, three rebounds and two blocks while Charles Glover chipped in five points in the loss.
Wake Forest shot 54 percent in the game, including 8-of-14 from three-point range. Codi Miller-McIntyre led Wake with 11 points, eight rebounds and seven assists with Cornelius Hudson adding 10 points.
After falling behind 7-2 in the opening minutes, Gregory Graves went 1-of-2 at the line and Byron Ashe hit a three-pointer from the left corner to cut the Mount deficit to one.
The Demon Deacons (4-2) responded with a 13-0 run to take control of the game. Hudson started the run with a three-pointer, with Dinos Mitoglou adding the next five points. A Greg McClinton free throw pushed the Wake Forest lead to 20-6 before Wray stopped the run with a lay-up on a feed from Robinson.
Wake Forest continued to surge, stretching their lead to as much as 30 points, before the Mount scored the final six points of the half to make the score 44-20 at the break.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Tuesday, December 2nd, with a 7:00 p.m. game at Seton Hall.
Game Notes: The Mount is 1-22 all-time against the Atlantic Coast Conference…This was the first game against an ACC team since a 77-74 loss at Maryland on Dec. 7, 2011…Wake Forest holds a 4-0 lead in the all-time series with the Mount…This was the first meeting between the teams since November 16, 2000.
