FIRST FIVE
1. Mount St. Mary's opens the 2014-15 season at No. 2 Arizona.  Last season, the Mountaineers won the Northeast Conference Tournament to earn the school's fourth bid to the NCAA Tournament.  Mount St. Mary's rolled to an 88-71 victory at top-seeded Robert Morris in the NEC Championship game before falling to Albany, 71-64, in the NCAA First Round in Dayton, Ohio.  Mount St. Mary's concluded the season with a 16-17 record.

2. Third-year head coach Jamion Christian aims to have his team playing its best basketball at the end of the season. The Mountaineers are 18-7 in February in March under Christian, including a 5-1 record in the Northeast Conference Tournament.  The Mount won the NEC title last year after falling in the championship game the previous season.

3.  Head coach Jamion Christian refers to his team's style of play as Mayhem.  Mayhem features a pressing defense with a fast-paced offense that relies on the three-point basket.  The Mountaineers have set the school record for three-pointers made in each of Christian's first two seasons at the helm of the program.

4. Mount St. Mary's is 1-21 all-time against teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25.  The Mount's lone win was a 71-69 victory at No. 21 Georgia Tech on Dec. 18, 1995.  The Mountaineers are 0-4 against teams ranked first or second in the nation, including a 98-65 loss to No. 1 Michigan State last season.

5. The Mount was picked to finish in fifth place in the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches poll.  The Mountaineers were picked sixth in last year's preseason poll.
