Mount Women's Basketball Takes on Saint Francis U on Monday for ESPN3 Broadcast

MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount is looking to pick up its third win away from Knott Arena this season on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. when it takes on Saint Francis U in Loretto, Pa. Preseason All-NEC selection Sydney Henderson leads the Mount with 18.2 points per game, while Jacqueline Brewer has scored 20 or more points in three-consecutive games to up her average to 11.1 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT: The Mount put up its best offensive output with 89 points in an 89-78 win over Wagner on Jan. 18 at Knott Arena. The Mount bested the Seahawks in nearly every statistical category, outrebounding Wagner, 37-34, and shooting 80.0 percent (32-of-40) from the free throw line. Jacqueline Brewer scored a season-high 23 points, while Sydney Henderson added 21 and Kayla Grossett netted a season-high 20. Grossett led the Mount on the boards with nine rebounds, missing her second career double-double by just one rebound.

ABOUT SAINT FRANCIS U: Last year's NEC runner-up, Saint Francis is looking to bounce back from a two-game losing streak that includes an 88-86 home loss to Bryant on Jan. 13 and an 83-69 defeat at the hands of Robert Morris on Jan. 18. The Red Flash score a conference-best 79.4 points per game and put up scoring outputs of 106 against Central Connecticut and 111 versus Fairleigh Dickinson in a pair of wins. The Red Flash are led by two-time All-NEC pick Alli Williams, who averages 23.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

LAST SEASON VS. SAINT FRANCIS U: Saint Francis U forward Alli Williams recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Mount suffered an 83-59 road loss on Feb. 9. Three Mount players scored in double figures, including a team-high 16 from Jacqueline Brewer on 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. SAINT FRANCIS U: The Mount is 26-28 in the all-time series with Saint Francis and has not beaten the Red Flash since Feb. 23, 2008. Saint Francis has won seven in a row in the series. 

BREWER CONTINUES STRONG PLAY: Jacqueline Brewer has put up point totals of 21 (Sacred Heart, 1/11/14), 21 (St. Francis Brooklyn, 1/13/14) and 23 (Wagner, 1/18/14) in her last three games. She had not scored 20 or more in back-to-back contests in her college career prior to that stretch. Brewer, who now has six 20-point games to her credit, also nailed the game-winning three in a 63-62 win over LIU Brooklyn on Jan. 6.

COACHING CONNECTIONS: The two coaches in the game, Mount's Bryan Whitten and Saint Francis' Joe Haigh, were on the staff together at VCU during the 2006-07 season. Whitten was an assistant coach and Haigh was the Director of Basketball Operations.
