Mount Track Teams Have Busy Day of Action at Navy and Bucknell

BUCKNELL MINI MEET RESULTS | NAVY INVITATIONAL RESULTS

January 11, 2014--The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's track and field teams had a busy day of action with the men's team participating at both the Navy Invitational and the Bucknell Mini Meet while the women's team was at Bucknell.

Genamarie McCant, Jessica Whitmore, and Maria Borland highlighted the women's team's results at Bucknell.  McCant won both the 500m dash (1:18.06) and the 300m dash (40.50)  for the Mountaineers.  Whitmore captured first in the 60m dash (7.67) and was third in the 200m dash (25.90) while Maria Borland won the 1000m run with a time of 2:59.14.

The women's 4x400m relay team captured first place with a time of 3:58.30.  The team was comprised of Helena Leyrer, McCant, Maria Borland and Stephanie Borland.  Corie Scharpf tied for first in the high jump with a leap of 1.60m.

Stephanie Borland finished second in the 1,000m run at 3:01.19 while Kristen Galligan placed fourth in the mile run (5:15.75).  Madeleine Midles had a toss of 13.87m in the weight throw to earn third place while teammate Francine Pinnock had a throw of 13.74m to place fourth.

For the men's team at Bucknell, Julian Woods was second in the 60m hurdles (8.45) and the long jump (6.45m) while Josh Poole was third in the 500m run.

At Navy, Coby Rosemier-Gussio won the heptathlon with a score of 4,651 points to pace the Mountaineers.  Rosemier-Gussio had a time of 7.03 in the 60m dash for 872 points, scored 746 points with a leap of 6.71m in the long jump, had 595 points with a throw of 11.81m in the shot put, tallied 577 points in the high jump with a mark of 1.74m, had 696 points with a mark of 9.23m in the 60m hurdles, had 469 points in the pole vault (3.45m) and 696 points in the 1,000m run (2:56.78).

Kody Wilson took home first place in the 1,000m run (2:30.52) while Chris Eltringham was second in the 800m run (1:55.63) while Sean Fritz finished in third place (1:56.00).
