Radford, Va. (November 22, 2013) -- Three more victories highlighted the Mount women's swimming team's effort on day two of the Radford Invitational on Friday, adding to an already impressive performance at the event. The Mount, which remained in second place with 479 points, saw sophomore Haley Fournier break a school record for the second-consecutive day.
The Mount's victories on Friday came in the 200 medley relay (1:48.11) as well as from Erin Regan in the 100 fly (57.50) and Fournier breaking the program record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.50.
The Northeast Conference Swimmer of the Week, Fournier also set the Mount record in the 500 free in 4:59.84 during yesterday's action. On Friday, the sophomore picked up right where she left off, winning the 100 breaststroke in record-setting fashion. The school record entering the season was 1:09.15 set by Anne Thelen at the 2011 Radford Invitational.
The Mount continued to compete well in the relays on day two. After taking first in both relays on Thursday, the 200 medley relay team of Amanda Moore, Fournier, Mollie Walsh and Regan turned in a winning time of 1:48.11 on Friday.
Regan added an individual victory in the 100 fly (57.50), winning by more than a second over Radford's Claire Doherty in 58.52.
The Mount turned in four other finishes in the top four as well. Freshman Sarah Bonson captured fourth in the 400 IM (4:43.78), while Moore took home fourth in the 200 free (1:57.23) and the 100 backstroke (1:00.42).
In the 800 free relay, the time of 7:50.88 compiled by Regan, Fournier, Moore and Allison Baker was good for second overall.
Campbell remains in first place with 716 points. The Mount is in second with 479 followed closely by third-place Radford with 454. The next three in the field remained the same with UNC Asheville (328), Millersville (272) and North Carolina A&T (109).
Competing in the event for the fifth-consecutive season, the two-day total of 479 is the second-most points a Mount team has earned in the previous three-day Radford Invitationals.
