Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

BALTIMORE, Md. – Nicole Pagano (Berlin, N.J./St. Joseph) and Danni Cummings (Owings, Md./Northern) combined for a five-inning no-hitter and Cat Clifford (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) drove in five runs to help Mount St. Mary's to a doubleheader sweep against Coppin State in non-conference softball action on Tuesday. The Mount (15-28) won the opener 15-0 and then took the nightcap 2-1.

Pagano struck out two of the three batters she faced and then turned the ball over to Cummings for the final four innings. Only an error in the second inning kept the Mountaineers from their second perfect game after Cummings faced 13 batters in the final four innings with three strikeouts to complete the no-hitter. It was Mount St. Mary's second-straight no-hitter at the Coppin State Field after Pagano tossed a five-inning perfect game against Rhode Island on Mar. 16. Pagano has now been a part of three no-hitters this season.

Clifford went 2-for-2 in the opener with four RBIs and three runs scored and then doubled home the decisive run in the nightcap to help complete the Mount's second-straight twinbill sweep.

Erin Leddy (Great Mills, Md./St. Mary's Ryken)  went 3-for-4 with three RBIs including a home run in the opener, and Katy Bobbitt (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) added two hits, three runs scored and an RBI in the first game.

Mount St. Mary's erupted for 15 runs in five innings to take the opener 15-0.

The Mount scored four times in the first to take a 4-0 lead. Clifford got the scoring started with a two-run single to left center before Leddy smacked a two-run homer.

In the second, the Mountaineers added four runs to grab an 8-0 lead. Liz Christiansen (Etters, Pa./Red Land) plated a run on a single up the middle and then Clifford brought two runs home on a double to left center. The sophomore then scored on a wild pitch.

The offensive outburst continued in the third on a run-scoring triple by Bobbitt and an RBI fielder's choice by Kendra Hayward (Kingston, Pa./Coughlin) to increase the lead to 10-0.

Casey Beck (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) knocked in her first collegiate RBI on a ground out in the fourth before Mount St. Mary's plated four runs in the fifth for the 15-0 victory. Alexa Tuck (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale) touched home on a wild pitch and Kayla Spataro (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township) posted her first career RBI on a double for her first collegiate hit. Rachel Teti (Mount Airy, Md./Linganore) doubled home a run before Leddy brought home the final run on a single down the left field line.

In the nightcap, Amanda Sadowl (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) allowed one run on five hits to earn her first win of the season.

The Eagles got the scoring started in the game on a wild pitch, but Mount St. Mary's posted two runs in the sixth to come away with the victory.

Leddy singled to center field and touched home on Christiansen's RBI single to center. Clifford then knocked in the decisive run for the fourth-straight game on a double to right center.

Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Wednesday at home against Towson. First pitch is 3 p.m.
