opening tip... Saturday's game between Mount St. Mary's and Bryant marks the fifth meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 2008-09 season.
• The Mount leads the series 3-1, but the Bulldogs one win in the series was in Smithfield.
• The Mount downed Bryant 66-61 on Jan. 14 in Emmitsburg in the first meeting this season.
• The Bulldogs' last win in the series was a 79-76 overtime decision last season.

about the bulldogs... Bryant comes into the contest 13-14 overall and 6-10 in Northeast Conference after falling 72-68 at Robert Morris on Monday.
• Junior G Katie Whittington paced the Bulldogs with 15 points against the Colonials. Whittington posted 14 points in a 79-64 loss against Sacred Heart on Feb. 11. The junior ranks third on the team with 10.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.
• Sophomore F Naana Ankoma-Mensa tallied 13 points and 13 rebounds on Monday. The sophomore posted 23 points and 18 rebounds against the Pioneers. Ankoma-Mensa leads the team with 12.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
• Sophomore G Courtney Schissler chipped in 13 points off the bench against Robert Morris. Schissler added 12 points in an 85-73 loss to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Feb. 18. The sophomore is averaging 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
• Junior G Danielle Douglas ranks second on the squad with 11.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. Douglas notched 26 points in a 71-67 win against Wagner on Jan. 16.

last time we met... Rachel Mathews scored the go-ahead basket with 43 seconds remaining to lift Mount St. Mary's past Bryant 66-61 on Jan. 14, 2012. Ashley Christie paced the Mount with 12 points. Sydney Henderson added 11 points while Selina Mann stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, eight assists and six steals. Meredith Soper led the Bulldogs with 18 points and eight rebounds. Naana Ankoma-Mensa tallied 14 points and 16 rebounds while Katie Whittington chipped in 10 points in the losing effort.

quick hits on the monmouth... Sophomore Ashley Christie scored the go-ahead layup with 42 seconds left and sophomore Kayla Grossett grabbed a defensive rebound after Monmouth missed a free throw to lift Mount St. Mary's past Monmouth 60-56 on Monday.
• Christie finished the game with eight points while Grossett added seven points off the bench. Christie has posted at least eight points in five of her last six games and is averaging 10.3 points per game in that stretch.
• Junior Sydney Henderson narrowly missed her second-straight double-double after finishing the game with 19 points and nine rebounds. The junior notched her first collegiate double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18. The junior has posted double-figures in 13 of her last 16 games and is averaging 14.0 points per game in that stretch.
•  Sophomore Jessie Kaufman added 13 points against the Hawks. Kaufman has started seven of the last eight games and is averaging 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in that stretch. The sophomore has posted at least nine points in seven of those games, including six double-figure performance.
• Junior Selina Mann continues to rack up the stats after finishing with seven assists, five rebounds and five steals. The junior, who established a new program record with 11 steals against the Knights on Feb. 18, is averaging 6.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 4.5 steals per game in her last eight contests.
•  The Mount has won five straight for the first time since the 2000-01 season.
•  The Mount clinched its 21st appearance in the NEC Tournament in 23 years and the first since the 2008-09 season.

playoff picture... The eight spots for the upcoming NEC Tournament have been clinched.
• Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Robert Morris, Monmouth, Saint Francis (Pa.), LIU Brooklyn, the Mount and Fairleigh Dickinson will be the eight teams in the league's postseason.
• The Mountaineers can finish as high as the third seed or as low as the eight seed.
• Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart will be the top two teams, but seeding for the final six teams is still up for grabs.

The Mount has notched its second winning streak this season after defeating Robert Morris 80-75 on Feb. 6, Wagner 71-48 on Feb. 11 ,Wagner 68-60 on Feb. 15, Fairleigh Dickinson 62-51 on Feb. 18 and Monmouth 60-56 on Feb. 20.
• The Mountaineers have won five-consecutive games for the first time since 2000-01 when the squad won six straight.
• It marks the second time this season the Mount has won three or more games in a row after the squad won three-straight games in December with wins against LIU Brooklyn (44-43, Dec. 3), St. Francis (N.Y.) (70-48, Dec. 5) and Loyola (59-54, Dec. 10).
•  The Mount has recorded wins in consecutive games 10 times under head coach Bryan Whitten.

one giant steal for mann, one hundred steal's for mann this season... Junior Selina Mann established a new program record with 11 steals against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18.
• Mann became the first player in program history to record 10 steals in a game twice in her career and is joined by Karla Green (at Richmond, Feb. 20, 1983) and Kim Rhock (Saint Francis (Pa.), Jan. 14, 1990) as the only players in team history with double digits in steals.
• In addition, Mann became the first player in program history to record 100 assists and 100 steals in a single season.
• The junior moved into seventh place for career steals in program history with 234 thefts.

state of the mount... Mount St. Mary's is 13-14 overall and 9-7 in Northeast Conference play this season.
• The Mount has won 10 games for the third time under  
head coach Bryan Whitten. With one win, the Mount will match the most wins under Whitten (2008-09).
• At 9-7 in the league, the Mount has its best conference mark since 2005-06 when the squad was 9-7 through 16 league games.
• With two wins, the Mount will clinch its first non-losing season since 2000-01 when the squad went 15-14.
• In addition, the Mountaineers posted its first 10 win season at Knott Arena since 1999-00 when the squad went 10-1. The Mount finished the regular season 10-4 and registered 10 wins for the 10th time at Knott Arena in program record.
in the nec... The Mount leads the Northeast Conference in 3-point field goals made (6.22) while ranking second in 3-point field goal percentage (.328), third in turnover margin (+2.33), fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (0.79), fourth in free throw percentage (.701), fifth in scoring defense (60.5) and fifth in steals (9.70).
• Junior Selina Mann ranks in the Top-10 in five categories, including second in steals (3.89), third in assists-to-turnover ratio (1.59), fourth in assists (4.59), 10th in free throw percentage (.767) and 10th in minutes played (32.48). Junior Sydney Henderson ranks second in minutes played (34.81) and seventh in 3-point field goals made (1.74) while sophomore Jessie Kauffman is fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (.360).

offensive outburst... Mount St. Mary's has posted 68 points in four of its last seven games after reaching 68 points in a game twice in the first 20 games this season.
•  The Mount is averaging 66.4 points per game in the last five contests after averaging 54.2 points per game in the first 20 games of the year.
• Mount St. Mary's scored a season-high 80 points against Robert Morris on Feb. 6.

on the road... Junior Sydney Henderson is averaging 11.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 13 road games this season.
• The junior has registered double figures eight times on the road, including a pair of 18-point performance, 20 points at Towson on Nov. 22 and 23 points at Quinnipiac on Jan. 30. Henderson is averaging 14.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in her last seven games away from Knott Arena.
• Sophomores Kayla Grossett and Jessie Kaufman each have four double-digit performances on the road. Grossett notched a career-high 21 points against the Bobcats while Kaufman registered 19 points against UMES on Nov. 15.
•  Senior Sandra Andresson and junior Selina Mann each have three 10-point performances on the road. Sophomore Ashley Christie has two 10-point games on the road. Junior Tara Lonergan notched 11 points at Wagner on Feb. 15 and sophomore Rachel Mathews posted 10 points at American on Nov. 22.
• The Mount is averaging 55.2 points per game while allowing 64.8 points per game on the road. The squad is shooting 36.6 from the field away from Knott Arena.
• Mount St. Mary's is 3-10 this season on the road and 2-5 in league games.
• The Mount has scored 70 points in the last two games away from Emmitsburg.

at the knott or not at the knott, that is the question... Mount St. Mary's is averaging 4.2 points more at home than on the road, but the major stat discrepancy comes on the defensive side.
 • The Mount is allowing 56.5 points per game at Knott Arena and 64.8 points per game on the road.
• The is +5.4 turnovers per game at home, but -0.9 turnovers on the road.

in the last five... The Mount is 5-0 in its last five games.
• Sophomore Jessie Kaufman is averaging 15.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in her last five games. Kaufman has scored double figures in five-straight games, including a career-high 25 points against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18.
• Junior Sydney Henderson is averaging 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in her last five contests. Henderson has scored double figures in three of her last five games and is averaging 19.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in her last two games after posting her first career double-double and narrowly missing the feat against Monmouth on Feb. 20.
• Sophomore Ashley Christie is averaging 10.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in the last five contests. Christie posted double figures three times in that stretch, including a season-high 18 points against Wagner on Feb. 15.
•Junior Tara Lonergan had 11 points against Wagner on Feb. 11 and junior Selina Mann had 14 points against the Seahawks on Feb. 15.

kaufman not getting a cold... Sophomore Jessie Kaufman has started the last six games and is averaging 12.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in her last eight contests.
•  Kaufman, who has started seven of the last eight games, has registered at least nine points in seven of those games and six double-digit performances.
•  She is averaging 8.0 points per game this season.
• Kaufman notched a career-high 25 points against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb 18.
• She has scored at least eight points 15 times this season, including eight games with 12 points or more.
• The sophomore has 12 double-digit performances in her career.
• Kaufman grabbed a career-best eight rebounds against St. Francis (N.Y.) on Jan. 23 and against Quinnipiac on Jan. 30.

sydney on the rise and not down under... Junior Sydney Henderson has registered double figures in 13 of her last 16 games.
•  Henderson is averaging 14.0 points per game in that stretch and has recorded 18 points, 19 points (twice), 23 points and a career-high 25 points during that stretch.
• The junior notched her first collegiate double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18. It was her second 10 board game this season after registering a career-high 12 caroms against Rider on Dec. 29.
• Henderson has posted 16 10-point performances this season, including two 20-point games.

moving in on the all-time charts... Senior Sandra Andresson is making a move on the program's all-time career games started list. The senior sits in fifth place with 99 career starts and will move up a spot with two starts.
• In addition, the senior moved into eighth place in career games played with 114 and will move into fifth with her next game played.
• Junior Selina Mann moved into seventh place on the program's all-time career steals list with 234. The junior can move into sixth place with seven steals.
• Mann's 105 steals this season are the fourth most in the program's single-season chart. Kiana Fobbs is third on the list with 110 thefts in 2001-02.

little women... Two of the Mount's top three rebounders this season are in the squad's starting backcourt.
• Junior Selina Mann, a 5-4 guard, leads the team with 4.9 rebounds per game. The junior has grabbed five caroms in a contest 15 times this year including 10 rebounds against American on Nov. 18, Sacred Heart on Jan. 28 and Wagner on Feb. 11.
• Junior Sydney Henderson, a 5-6 guard, ranks third on the squad with 4.2 rebounds per game. She has hauled in five boards in a game 10 times this season, including a career-high 12 rebounds against Rider on Dec. 29 and 10 caroms against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18. She is averaging 5.2 rebounds per game at home.
• Sophomore Ashley Christie, a 5-8 guard, also has a 10-rebound performance on her resume this season after hauling in 10 boards against American.
• Sophomore Rachel Mathews, a 6-0 sophomore, ranks second on the team with 4.4 rebounds per game.

tale of the offensive numbers... Mount St. Mary's has scored 80 points in a game once, 70 point in a game four times, between 60-69 points seven times, between 50-59 points eight times, between 40-49 points six times and under 40 points once.
• The Mount is 1-0 when it reached 80 points in a game, 2-2 when reached 70 points in a game, 5-2 when it scores in the 60's, 3-5 when it scores in the 50's and 2-5 when it is held under 50 points.
• The Mount has scored over 60 points in four of its last five games.

second-chance points... Mount St. Mary's has been outrebounded in 19 of the 27 games this season.
• The opponent has registered 308 second-chance points to the Mount's 204.
• The Mountaineers are 4-2 when it outrebounds an opponent with wins against UMES on Nov. 15, St. Francis (N.Y.) on Dec. 5, Bucknell on Dec. 31, Sacred Heart on Jan. 28 and against Wagner on Feb. 11. Mount St. Mary's held a 41-39 edge against the Hawks, a 28-24 margin against the Terriers, a 31-30 edge against the Bison, a 38-37 margin against the Pioneers and a 43-41 advantage against the Seahawks.

i'm a weekend kind of girl... Sophomore Ashley Christie is averaging 10.4 points per game in 24 games on the weekend.
• Christie is averaging 8.7 points per game in 11 weekend games this season. The sophomore posted a season-high 16 points against Navy on Nov. 26, 14 points against Loyola on Dec. 10, 12 points against Bryant on Jan. 14 and 15 points against Wagner on Feb. 11.
• Christie is averaging 10.9 points per game in 14 weekend league games.
• The sophomore posted 12 of her 21 double-digit performances on the weekend.   

career highlights... Sophomore Jessie Kaufman notched a career-best 25 points against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18.
• Sophomore Kayla Grossett scored a career-high 21 points against Quinnipiac on Jan. 30.
• Junior Sydney Henderson scored a career-high 25 points against Central Connecticut State on Jan. 18.

man oh mann, selina... Mount St. Mary's can pretty much count on getting five from junior Selina Mann every game. The only question is will it be five points, five rebounds, five assists or five steals.
• This season, Mann has posted at a five spot in two categories six times, three categories nine times and in four categories three this season.
• Mann has posted a five spot in one of those categories in 64 of the 81 games.
• The junior has posted a five spot in two of those categories 21 times, 11 times in three categories and five times in four different categories.
• She has scored five points 44 times in her career, including 17 two-digit performances and a career-high 26 at San Jose State on Dec. 29, 2010.
• The 5-4 guard has posted five rebounds 28 times in her career, including four 10-board performances.
• Mann has dished out five assists 27 times in her career including a career-high 10assists against Wagner on Feb. 11.
• The junior has registered five steals in a game 14 times in her career, including establishing a new program record with 11 steals against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18.
• Mann leads the team with four double-doubles. She has two points-rebounds tricks, one points-steals and one rebounds-assists double-double. She is only the third player in Mount Division I history with a double-double that includes steals. The junior recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds against American on Nov. 18.

henderson gets in the record books... Junior Sydney Henderson hit six 3-pointers against Monmouth on Jan. 9. It was the eighth most in a single game in program history.
• The junior became the fifth player in program history to connect on six or more shots from behind the arc.
• It was the first time a player made more than five 3's in a game since Lauren Howell against Wagner on Jan. 28, 2008.

the need to dial long distance for 1-2-3... The NCAA changed the three-point line for the 2011-12 women's basketball season to 20 feet, nine inches, which is the same distance men's basketball has been using for several years.
• Last season, the Mount led the Northeast Conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.355) and had three players rank in the Top-10 in the category.  
• The Mount is 168-for-512 this season from behind the arc, including 13-for-23 against Towson on Nov. 22. The 13 made 3-pointers tied a program record. The squad also hit 13 treys against North Carolina on Feb. 27, 1989.
• The Mountaineers also made 11 treys against Monmouth on Jan. 9, which ranks fourth best in team history.
• Junior Sydney Henderson leads the team with 47 baskets from behind the arc while sophomore Jessie Kaufman has 31.

in the league... The Mount is 255-149 in Northeast Conference play, including 147-60 at Knott Arena and 108-89 on the road.

rock the knott... Mount St. Mary's is 10-4 at Knott Arena this season.
• The Mount is 3-2 in non-conference play and 7-2 in league play in Emmitsburg.
• The Mountaineers will have its first winning mark at Knott Arena since 2006-07 and the eighth time since the 1997-98 season.
• The Mount posted its first winning mark in league play at home since the 2005-06 season.
• The squad has its first winning record at home in non-conference play since 2008-09 and the third since 1997-98.  The Mountaineers had a winning non-league mark in the first 11 years of the building.

in their collegiate debut... Freshman Mariah Powell was the lone freshman to make her collegiate debut in the season opener against Binghamton.
• Powell entered the game with 67 seconds left and registered her first career points on a pair of free throws with 52 seconds left and her first collegiate rebound with 19 ticks on the clock.
• Fellow freshmen Jen Carney and Melanie Mocniak  made their collegiate debut after entering the game against Pittsburgh with 1:50 left on Nov. 29.
• Carney notched her first collegiate basket in the second half against LIU Brooklyn on Dec. 3 and finished with a career-high five points.

would the real jessie kaufman please stand up... There are now to Jessica Kaufman's in the Northeast Conference.
• Sophomore Jessie Kaufman is in her second season at the Mount while freshman Jessica Kaufman joined the St. Francis (N.Y.) team this season.

in the month... In February, the Mount is 220-107 and 122-70 since switching to Division I.
• The Mountaineers are 77-27 at home and 43-43 on the road since switching to Division I.
• The Mount is 18-19 under head coach Bryan Whitten in the month.

in the non-conference slate... Mount St. Mary's is 79-122 in non-conference games since joining the Northeast Conference in 1989-90.

home sweet home... In its 25th season at Knott Arena, Mount St. Mary's has posted a 218-107 overall mark, including 74-45 in non-conference play and 144-62 in league play since moving across Route 15 from Memorial Gym.

hearing your name called at the start... Head coach Bryan Whitten has only had 19 players start in his four-year tenure at the Mount.
• The Mount has used eight different starting lineups this season, the most under Whitten.
• Senior Sandra Andresson has started 99 of the 114 games she has played.
• Junior  Sydney Henderson started 38 of the 53 games she has played.
• Junior Tara Lonergan has started 19 games in her career.
• Sophomore Ashley Christie has started 54 of 56 games in  her collegiate career.
• Sophomore Rachel Mathews started 19 games, sophomore  Jessie Kaufman ha started 16 games while fellow Kayla Grossett has started five contests.

preseason poll... The Mount St. Mary's women's basketball team has been picked 11th in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Preseason Coaches Poll. Five of the 12 teams in the league garnered first place votes with Saint Francis (Pa.) being tabbed the preseason favorite after picking up four first place nods. Robert Morris, LIU Brooklyn, Monmouth and Sacred Heart each picked up two first place votes apiece. The Colonials and Blackbirds placed 2-3 in the poll while the Hawks and Pioneers finished tied for fourth. Quinnipiac, Fairleigh Dickinson, Bryant, Central Connecticut State, Wagner, Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis (N.Y.) rounded out the 12-team poll.

let's play to 60 points... Mount St. Mary's is most successful under head coach Bryan Whitten when it scores 60 points in a game or holds the opponent under that total.
• The Mount is 31-23 when it scores 60 points in a game, but 22-68 when it does not reach 60 points.
• Defensively, the Mountaineers are 41-29 when the opponents are held under 60 points and 12-62 when the opponent reaches 60 points.

three keys to whitten success... The Mount is most successful under head coach Bryan Whitten when the squad leads at halftime, in rebounding or keeps the opponent under 60 points.
• The Mount is 39-16 when he holds the lead at halftime, 3-3 when the game is tied, but just 11-72 when trailing at the break.
• The squad is 22-18 when it holds a rebounding edge in a game, but just 26-70 when the opponent has the advantage and 2-5 when the two teams have equal boards.
• Mount St. Mary's is 41-29 when it holds opponents under 60 points.

hitting 20 points in a game... Senior Sandra Andresson, juniors Sydney Henderson and Selina Mann and sophomores Ashley Christie,Kayla Grossett and Jessie Kaufman are the only five players on the roster that has scored 20 points in a game.
• Henderson has reached 20 points in a game three times this season.The junior posted 20 points against Towson on Nov. 22, a career-high 25 points against Central Connecticut State on Jan. 16 and 23 points against Quinnipiac on Jan. 30.
• Grossett became the second player this season to score 20 points. The sophomore registered a career-best 21 points against Quinnipiac on Jan. 30.
• Kaufman is the third player this season to reach 20 points with a career-high 25 against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18.
• Mann scored a career-high 26 points against San Jose State on Dec. 29, 2010.
• Christie posted a career-high 21 points against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 5, 2011.
• Andresson registered a career-best 25 points against Monmouth on Feb. 7, 2011.
• The Mount has registered 26 20-point performances and two 30-point games under head coach Bryan Whitten. The squad is 14-12 when a player reaches 20 points and 2-0 when a player scores 30 in a contest.

new to the mountain... Head coach Bryan Whitten added four players to his 2011-12 team. Freshmen Jen Carney, Melanie Mocniak, Mariah Powell and Lindsay Williams all joined the team this season.
• Sophomore Jacqueline Brewer also joined the team, but will have to sit out this season due to NCAA transfer regulations. Brewer comes to the Mount after playing at Virginia Commonwealth last year.

northeast conference history... Prior to the last two seasons, the Mount had advanced to 20-straight NEC Tournaments.
• Mount St. Mary's is 17-17 in the NEC Tournament.
• The Mountaineers have not won a tournament game since a 50-45 win against Sacred Heart on Mar. 4, 2001.
• Mount St. Mary's won tournaments in 1992-93, 1993-94 and 1994-95, including earning the league's first two NCAA Division I bids.

the underlining whit... Head coach Bryan Whitten is in his fifth season at the Mount. The Mount is 53-91 overall under Whitten.
• The Mount is 28-39 overall at Knott Arena and 21-25 in NEC play under Whitten.
• The Mountaineers on the road are 25-51 overall mark away from Emmitsburg and 13-29 in league play.

out of africa... Former women's basketball player Leah Westbrooks was named the recipient of the Shooting Touch Inc. Sabbatical Program grant.
• Westbrooks received $25,000 to help with travel cost and expenses on her 10-month international independent study in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Westbrooks is currently in South Africa to work with the Hoops for Hope group and Western Zimbabwe with the Matilda Project.
