about the bulldogs... Bryant comes into the contest 13-14 overall and 6-10 in Northeast Conference after falling 72-68 at Robert Morris on Monday.
• Junior G Katie Whittington paced the Bulldogs with 15 points against the Colonials. Whittington posted 14 points in a 79-64 loss against Sacred Heart on Feb. 11. The junior ranks third on the team with 10.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.
• Sophomore F Naana Ankoma-Mensa tallied 13 points and 13 rebounds on Monday. The sophomore posted 23 points and 18 rebounds against the Pioneers. Ankoma-Mensa leads the team with 12.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
• Sophomore G Courtney Schissler chipped in 13 points off the bench against Robert Morris. Schissler added 12 points in an 85-73 loss to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Feb. 18. The sophomore is averaging 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
• Junior G Danielle Douglas ranks second on the squad with 11.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. Douglas notched 26 points in a 71-67 win against Wagner on Jan. 16.
last time we met... Rachel Mathews scored the go-ahead basket with 43 seconds remaining to lift Mount St. Mary's past Bryant 66-61 on Jan. 14, 2012. Ashley Christie paced the Mount with 12 points. Sydney Henderson added 11 points while Selina Mann stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, eight assists and six steals. Meredith Soper led the Bulldogs with 18 points and eight rebounds. Naana Ankoma-Mensa tallied 14 points and 16 rebounds while Katie Whittington chipped in 10 points in the losing effort.
quick hits on the monmouth... Sophomore Ashley Christie scored the go-ahead layup with 42 seconds left and sophomore Kayla Grossett grabbed a defensive rebound after Monmouth missed a free throw to lift Mount St. Mary's past Monmouth 60-56 on Monday.
• Christie finished the game with eight points while Grossett added seven points off the bench. Christie has posted at least eight points in five of her last six games and is averaging 10.3 points per game in that stretch.
• Junior Sydney Henderson narrowly missed her second-straight double-double after finishing the game with 19 points and nine rebounds. The junior notched her first collegiate double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18. The junior has posted double-figures in 13 of her last 16 games and is averaging 14.0 points per game in that stretch.
• Sophomore Jessie Kaufman added 13 points against the Hawks. Kaufman has started seven of the last eight games and is averaging 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in that stretch. The sophomore has posted at least nine points in seven of those games, including six double-figure performance.
• Junior Selina Mann continues to rack up the stats after finishing with seven assists, five rebounds and five steals. The junior, who established a new program record with 11 steals against the Knights on Feb. 18, is averaging 6.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 4.5 steals per game in her last eight contests.
• The Mount has won five straight for the first time since the 2000-01 season.
• The Mount clinched its 21st appearance in the NEC Tournament in 23 years and the first since the 2008-09 season.

• In addition, Mann became the first player in program history to record 100 assists and 100 steals in a single season.
• The junior moved into seventh place for career steals in program history with 234 thefts.
state of the mount... Mount St. Mary's is 13-14 overall and 9-7 in Northeast Conference play this season.

• Junior Selina Mann ranks in the Top-10 in five categories, including second in steals (3.89), third in assists-to-turnover ratio (1.59), fourth in assists (4.59), 10th in free throw percentage (.767) and 10th in minutes played (32.48). Junior Sydney Henderson ranks second in minutes played (34.81) and seventh in 3-point field goals made (1.74) while sophomore Jessie Kauffman is fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (.360).
offensive outburst... Mount St. Mary's has posted 68 points in four of its last seven games after reaching 68 points in a game twice in the first 20 games this season.
• The Mount is averaging 66.4 points per game in the last five contests after averaging 54.2 points per game in the first 20 games of the year.
• Mount St. Mary's scored a season-high 80 points against Robert Morris on Feb. 6.
on the road... Junior Sydney Henderson is averaging 11.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 13 road games this season.

• Junior Selina Mann moved into seventh place on the program's all-time career steals list with 234. The junior can move into sixth place with seven steals.
• Mann's 105 steals this season are the fourth most in the program's single-season chart. Kiana Fobbs is third on the list with 110 thefts in 2001-02.
little women... Two of the Mount's top three rebounders this season are in the squad's starting backcourt.
• Junior Selina Mann, a 5-4 guard, leads the team with 4.9 rebounds per game. The junior has grabbed five caroms in a contest 15 times this year including 10 rebounds against American on Nov. 18, Sacred Heart on Jan. 28 and Wagner on Feb. 11.
• Junior Sydney Henderson, a 5-6 guard, ranks third on the squad with 4.2 rebounds per game. She has hauled in five boards in a game 10 times this season, including a career-high 12 rebounds against Rider on Dec. 29 and 10 caroms against Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 18. She is averaging 5.2 rebounds per game at home.
• Sophomore Ashley Christie, a 5-8 guard, also has a 10-rebound performance on her resume this season after hauling in 10 boards against American.

• Mann has posted a five spot in one of those categories in 64 of the 81 games.
• The junior has posted a five spot in two of those categories 21 times, 11 times in three categories and five times in four different categories.
• She has scored five points 44 times in her career, including 17 two-digit performances and a career-high 26 at San Jose State on Dec. 29, 2010.

henderson gets in the record books... Junior Sydney Henderson hit six 3-pointers against Monmouth on Jan. 9. It was the eighth most in a single game in program history.
• The junior became the fifth player in program history to connect on six or more shots from behind the arc.
• It was the first time a player made more than five 3's in a game since Lauren Howell against Wagner on Jan. 28, 2008.
the need to dial long distance for 1-2-3... The NCAA changed the three-point line for the 2011-12 women's basketball season to 20 feet, nine inches, which is the same distance men's basketball has been using for several years.
• Last season, the Mount led the Northeast Conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.355) and had three players rank in the Top-10 in the category.
• The Mount is 168-for-512 this season from behind the arc, including 13-for-23 against Towson on Nov. 22. The 13 made 3-pointers tied a program record. The squad also hit 13 treys against North Carolina on Feb. 27, 1989.
• The Mountaineers also made 11 treys against Monmouth on Jan. 9, which ranks fourth best in team history.
• Junior Sydney Henderson leads the team with 47 baskets from behind the arc while sophomore Jessie Kaufman has 31.

• Fellow freshmen Jen Carney and Melanie Mocniak made their collegiate debut after entering the game against Pittsburgh with 1:50 left on Nov. 29.

preseason poll... The Mount St. Mary's women's basketball team has been picked 11th in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Preseason Coaches Poll. Five of the 12 teams in the league garnered first place votes with Saint Francis (Pa.) being tabbed the preseason favorite after picking up four first place nods. Robert Morris, LIU Brooklyn, Monmouth and Sacred Heart each picked up two first place votes apiece. The Colonials and Blackbirds placed 2-3 in the poll while the Hawks and Pioneers finished tied for fourth. Quinnipiac, Fairleigh Dickinson, Bryant, Central Connecticut State, Wagner, Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis (N.Y.) rounded out the 12-team poll.

out of africa... Former women's basketball player Leah Westbrooks was named the recipient of the Shooting Touch Inc. Sabbatical Program grant.
• Westbrooks received $25,000 to help with travel cost and expenses on her 10-month international independent study in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Westbrooks is currently in South Africa to work with the Hoops for Hope group and Western Zimbabwe with the Matilda Project.
