BALTIMORE, Md. - The final day of the UMBC Softball Tournament
has been cancelled due to heavy rain in the Baltimore area. Mount
St. Mary's was originally scheduled to battle Siena for the first
time in program history on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. before the
cancelation.
The Mount finished 2-1 in the UMBC Tournament after defeating
UMBC 9-0 on Friday and Iona 4-3 on Saturday. The squad fell 2-1 to
Liberty in the first game of the tournament. Erin Leddy (Great
Mills, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) smacked a three-run home run in the
fifth inning against the Gaels to lead the Mountaineers to the 4-3
win in the team's final game of the event.
Mount St. Mary's is 3-2 in its first five games this season and
returns to action on Thursday for a doubleheader at Georgia
Southern. First pitch is 3 p.m.
