Francis hit a leaning drive in the lane at the buzzer to lift
Bryant to a 62-60 come-from-behind victory over Mount St. Mary's on
Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs rallied from an 11-point deficit over the final
7:39 to earn the victory.
The Mount's Raven Barber tipped in his own miss with 20 seconds
left to tie the score at 60-60.  Bryant (7-15, 5-5 NEC) inbounded
the ball with no timeouts left and got the ball to Francis, who
drove the middle and put up a shot that hit the bounced around the
rim before falling through as the final buzzer sounded.
Mount St. Mary's (7-16, 5-5 NEC) held a 57-46 advantage after a
Jean Cajou three-pointer with 7:39 left in the game before Bryant
rallied.
Buoyed by strong free throw shooting, Bryant used a 14-1 run to
grab a 60-58 advantage.  The Bulldogs hit 8-of-10 at the line to
help cut the deficit to 58-56 with just over two minutes left. 
In the final minute, the Mount then fouled Francis, who hit
one-of-two at the line, to cut the Mount advantage to 58-57.  Barry
Lathan corralled the offensive rebound and Bryant found Cecil
Greshman, who buried a three-pointer with 35 seconds left to give
for a two-point lead.
The Mount answered on its next possession when Barber made a
post move and tipped in his own miss, setting up the final
possession.
Julian Norfleet led the Mount with 13 points while Lamar Trice
added 12.  Danny Thompson chipped in nine off the bench while Shawn
Atupem finished with seven in the loss.
Francis finished with a game-high 25 points and nine rebounds
while Gresham tallied 21 points and nine rebounds in the win.
The Mount shot 37.7 percent overall while Bryant converted 35.8
percent from the floor in the game.
Trailing 12-10 midway through the second half, the Mount went on
a 16-to-3 run to grab a double-digit advantage.  Atupem started the
spurt by scoring seven points in a row for the Mountaineers.  David
Golladay added back-to-back jumpers, Norfleet a three-pointer and
Thompson capped the run with a pair of free throws.
The Mount extended the margin to 36-22 on another Thompson free
throw before Bryant's Francis scored on a tip-in at the first-half
buzzer for a 36-24 Mountaineer lead at the break.
The Mount shot 42.9 percent from the floor in the opening half
while holding Bryant to 33.3 percent shooting, including 0-for-7
from three-point range. 
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Thursday, February 3, when
Monmouth visits Knott Arena for a 7:00 p.m. game.
Game Notes:  This was the Mount's first game at
Bryant since Dec. 1, 1983...The Mount holds a 4-1 lead in the
all-time series...
