Saturday's game between Mount St. Mary's and Pittsburgh marks the fourth meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 2006-07 season.
• Pittsburgh leads the series 3-0 after defeating the Mount 77-55 on Nov. 17, 2006 and 57-47 on Dec. 31, 2009 in the Steel City and also downing the Mountaineers 82-31 at Knott Arena on Nov. 20, 2007.
• The game also marks the seventh meeting between Mount St. Mary's and Pittsburgh head coach Agnus (McGlade) Berenato. Berenato, a 1980 graduate of the Mount, is 4-2 against her alma mater.
• The Mount defeated Berenato's Rider Broncs 67-37 on Dec. 3, 1983 and also downed the Broncs 72-50 on Nov. 30, 1984. Berenato got the best of her alma mater at Georgia Tech with a 102-90 decision on Nov. 25, 2000 and has won the only three meetings against Mount St. Mary's as the Panthers head coach.

about the panthers... Pittsburgh comes into the contest 3-3 after falling 85-71 to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Wednesday.
• Senior F Shayla Scott and senior G Taneisha Harrison each had 14 points for the Panthers against the Red Flash. Harrison ranks third on the team with 12.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while Scott is the fifth Pittsburgh player averaging double figures with 10.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
• Senior F Chelsea Cole tallied 10 points and 10 rebounds while senior G Brittaney Thomas (13 points) and senior G Jania Sims (12 points) also reached double figures on Wednesday for the Panthers. Cole is averaging a double-double with 10.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while Thomas is averaging a team-best 15.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game and Sims is second with 12.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

last time we met... Twentieth-ranked Pittsburgh defeated Mount St. Mary's 57-47 on Dec. 31, 2009. Cassie Cooke scored 19 of her career-high 24 points in the second half to pace the Mount. Cooke added eight rebounds while Mary Dunn tallied seven points and five rebounds. Shayla Scott fueled the Panthers with 18 points while Selena Nwude grabbed 11 rebounds in the winning effort.

up against the Big East. .. Mount St. Mary's is 8-24 all-time against the Big East and 1-21 since switching to Division I in 1988-89.
• The Mount has played Cincinnati (0-1), Georgetown (5-11), Notre Dame (1-0), St. John's (0-2), Seton Hall (0-2), Pittsburgh (0-3), Villanova (0-3) and West Virginia (2-3).
• The Mount's lone Division I win was a 78-75 decision over West Virginia on Dec. 6, 1994. All five of the Mountaineers wins against Georgetown came prior to 1988-89 and the win against the Irish was in 1981.
• Pittsburgh marks the second Big East school the Mount will play this season after falling 67-47 to Cincinnati on Nov. 23.
• It marks the third time in program history the Mount will compete against two Big East programs in a campaign. In 2006-07, the Mount faced Pittsburgh and Georgetown and took on the Hoyas and West Virginia in 1994-95.

bcs schools in the first six... The first six games in the 2010-11 campaign could arguable be the toughest start in program history.
• The Mount faced Atlantic Coast Conference member Virginia in the season opener and Big East afiliate Cincinnati on Nov. 23. The squad will battle its third BCS school when the team travels to Pittsburgh on Dec. 4.
• It marks the first time since the 2000-01 season the Mount will play three BCS schools when the squad faced Virginia (ACC), Georgia Tech (ACC) and Seton Hall (Big East).
• Mount St. Mary's also played three big conference schools in 1988-89 and 1994-95

last time out... Towson defeated Mount St. Mary's 66-48 on Wednesday. Senior Mary Dunn posted 11 points and six rebounds while freshman Kayla Grossett added 11 points off the bench.

quick hits on towson game... Mount St. Mary's grabbed a 3-2 advantage after senior Mary Dunn nailed a 3-pointer at 19:10 before Towson took the lead for good on a layup 39 seconds later. It was the third time this season the Mount has grabbed an early lead by making a 3-pointer to start the game. The squad also accomplished the feat against Virginia on Nov. 14 and at Cincinnati on Nov. 23.
• Dunn paced the Mount with 11 points and six rebounds. It marked the second time this season the senior has reached double figures.
• Freshman Kayla Grossett also reached double figures for the second time this season after recording 11 points against the Tigers.
• Junior Sandra Andresson added a season-high eight points and six rebounds.

Long Island, who advanced to the NEC Championship Game last season, received six first-place votes to be tabbed as the preseason favorite while the defending league regular season champions Robert Morris was selected second after garnering three first-place nods. Sacred Heart placed third ahead of the defending NEC Tournament champions Saint Francis (Pa.), who picked up two first place votes while Monmouth nabbed the final first-place vote to finish fifth in the poll. Quinnipiac, Central Connecticut State, Bryant, Fairleigh Dickinson, Wagner, the Mount and St. Francis (N.Y.) rounded out the 12-team field.

• The senior currently sits in 28th place in program history with 880 career points. She can pass Paula Balkonis (907, 1987-91) with 28 points to move into 28th place.
• The senior also ranks seventh in program history in rebounds per game (7.3 rpg.). Dunn can move into the program's all-time career rebounding Top-10 with 18 caroms.
• Dunn also ranks seventh in Mount Division I history with 14 career double-doubles. She can move up a spot with three next double-double.
• The senior is also eighth on the Mount's games started list with 93 career starts and can move ahead of Kia Williams (94, 1997-01) with two starts.

other players on the move... Along with senior Mary Dunn, the Mount has several players making a move on the program's all-time scoring chart.
• Senior Leah Westbrooks has 533 career points to rank 50th in program history and can move into 49th place with four points and into 48th place with 14 points. Westbrooks also ranks 13th in Mount Division I history with six double-doubles and can move into eighth place with four double-doubles.
• Junior Sandra Andresson currently sits in 61st place in program history with 354 points and can move into 60th place with 67 points.
• Sophomore Sydney Henderson has 160 career points to sit in 85th place. She can move intp 84th place with 13 points and 83rd place with 15 points.
• Sophomore Selina Mann has 125 points for her career and can move into the program's Top-100 with one point, 99th place with four points.

home sweet home... In its 24th season at Knott Arena, Mount St. Mary's has posted a 204-98 overall mark, including 69-43 in non-conference play and 135-55 in league play since moving across Route 15 from Memorial Gym.

freshmen for one-two-three... Freshmen Jessie Kaufman, Ashley Christie, Rachel Mathews and Kayla Grossett each knocked down their first career shot attempt in the game against Virginia.
• Kaufman gave the Mount a 3-2 lead with a 3-pointer 35 seconds into the game and Christie nailed 3-ball of her own to reclaim the lead for the Mountaineers at 6-4 with 18:28 left in the first half.
• Mathews recorded a 3-point play the traditional way after scoring a layup at 15:55 and then converting the free throw to give Mount St. Mary's a 9-7 advantage.
• Grossett nailed a 3-pointer on her first collegiate attempt at 5:25 in the second half.

in their debut... The five freshmen each saw action against Virginia on Nov. 14.
• Ashley Christie and Jessie Kaufman both made their collegiate debut in the starting lineup. Christie posted 13 points, including 10 in the second half, along with two rebounds and two assists. Kaufman had eight points, three rebounds, an assist and a block.
• Kayla Grossett, Rachel Mathews and Kelly Guerriero each saw time off the bench. Grossett had six points and two rebounds while Mathews had three points, three rebounds and an assist. Guerriero played the final 1:55 and missed her own shot attempt. Guerriero notched her first collegiate point in the second half against American on Nov. 17.

tops in the league... Mount St. Mary's has posted the most wins in the Northeast Conference since joining the league in 1989-90 with 241 victories.
• The Mount has the third-most wins in league history, trailing only Monmouth (253) and Saint Francis (Pa.) (247).
• The Mount is 241-131 in Northeast Conference play, including 135-54 at Knott Arena and 106-77 on the road.

northeast conference history... Prior to last season, the Mount had advanced to 20-straight Northeast Conference Tournaments.

• Senior Leah Westbrooks (Ireland) was the third international player at the Mount, junior Sandra Andresson (Estonia) became the fourth international player in Emmitsburg and freshman Kayla Grossett (Canada) became the fifth international player at the Mount.
• The trio follows Katie Walton (Canada, 1998-02) and Dita Krumberga (Latvia, 2004-07).

new to the mountain... Fourth-year head coach Bryan Whitten added freshman Ashley Christie, Kayla Grossett, Kelly Guerriero, Jessie Kaufman and Rachel Mathews to the roster in 2010-11. Each player signed a National Letter of Intent last season.

coaching changes... For the third-straight season, head coach Bryan Whitten has made changes to his coaching staff. Denise King and Lisa Steele both moved up a chair while Whitten added Mount alumni Brianna Gauthier this season.
• King is in her second season at the Mount after serving as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Rhode Island, for the last four years.
• Steele is also in her second season at the Mount after ending her four-year career at George Washington in 2008-09 after registering 206 points and 107 rebounds with the Colonials.
• Gauthier returns to the Mount after serving as an assistant coach under former Mount assistant Mark Zacher at Norwich, a Division III school in Vermont. A 2009 graduate of the Mount, she finished her career 18th in program history in all-time career points (1,128), second in 3-pointers made (164), second in 3-pointers attempted (490) and ninth in assists (335). Gauthier briefly played professionally in Sweden before joining the Norwich coaching staff last season.
