dating back to the 1974-75 season The Mount leads the series

• The Mount lost its first official game in program history
to the Greyhounds 60-31 on Dec. 4, 1974. "
• The two teams played every year for the first 19 years and
then played three more times after taking a year off in 1991-92
before stopping the in-state rivalry after the 1996-97 season.
• Loyola has won all four meetings since renewing the series
in 2006 and seven of the last eight matchups, including a 48-45 win
last season in Emmitsburg.
• The Mountaineers last win in the series was a 75-67
decision in 1996. Mount St. Mary's won 13-straight in the series
and 17 of 18 from 1978-1991.
about the greyhounds... Loyola comes into the
contest 2-6 overall after falling 79-61 to No. 22 Maryland on
Tuesday.
• Graduate student G Erica DiClemente paced the Greyhounds
with a season-high 23 points against the Terapins. DiClemente ranks
second on the team with 12.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.
• Junior G Miram McKenzie added 12 points and seven rebounds
on Tuesday. The junior leads the team with 12.4 points and 7.0
rebounds per game. McKenzie has led the team in scoring in four
games this season, including fueling Loyola with 16 points in a
57-54 win against Navy on Dec. 3.
• Sophomore F Alyssa Sutherland chipped in 10 points against
Maryland. Sutherland is averaging 7.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per
game. The sophomore had 11 points in the win against the
Midshipmen.
last time we met... Loyola overcame a 19-point
deficit to rally past Mount St. Mary's 48-45 on Nov. 28, 2009.
Sandra Andresson notched a career high and her first collegiate
double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers
while Leah Westbrooks added 12 points off the bench in the loss.
Kaitlin Grant paced Loyola with 17 points and 12 steals while
Miriam McKenzie added 16 points in the winning effort.
last time out... Navy defeated Mount St. Mary's
63-46 on Wednesday. Sophomore Selina Mann paced the Mount with 11
points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Freshman Kelly Guerriero
added a career-high 10 points and fellow freshman Ashley Christie
also had 10 points for the Mount.
quick hits on navy game... Mount St. Mary's
held the lead four times in the game. The Mount grabbed a 19-18
advantage, but the Midshipmen closed out the first half on a 17-0
run to take control of the game.
• It was the fifth time this season, the Mount's first basket
has been a 3-pointer. The squad also accomplished the feat against
Virginia (Nov. 14), Cincinnati (Nov. 23), Towson (Dec. 1) and
Pittsburgh (Dec. 4). Freshman Jessie Kaufman has hit a trey to open
the Mount's scoring three times. Mount St. Mary's is 0-5 when its
first basket is a 3-pointer and 1-1 when the first points scored
are inside the arc.
• Sophomore Selina Mann posted season highs in points (11)
and rebounds (7) and a career high in assists (7).
• Freshman Kelly Guerriero added a career-high 10 points
against Navy. The freshman keyed a 14-2 run with 10 points,
including eight-straight in a span of 76 seconds.
• Freshman Ashley Christie also had 10 points in the contest.

a player reach the 1,000-point plateau in five of the last seven
campaigns.

games in the 2010-11 campaign could have arguably be the toughest

received six first-place votes to be tabbed as the preseason
favorite while the defending league regular season champions Robert
Morris was selected second after garnering three first-place nods.
Sacred Heart placed third ahead of the defending NEC Tournament
champions Saint Francis (Pa.), who picked up two first place votes
while Monmouth nabbed the final first-place vote to finish fifth in
the poll. Quinnipiac, Central Connecticut State, Bryant, Fairleigh
Dickinson, Wagner, the Mount and St. Francis (N.Y.) rounded out the

is making a mark on the program's all-time list.
• The senior currently sits in 28th place in program history
with 884 career points. She can pass Paula Balkonis (907, 1987-91)
with 26 points to move into 27th place.
• The senior also ranks seventh in program history in
rebounds per game (7.3 rpg.). Dunn, who currently has 689 rebounds,
can move into the program's all-time career rebounding Top-10 with
four caroms.
• Dunn also ranks seventh in Mount Division I history with 14
career double-doubles. She can move up a spot with three next
double-double.
• The senior is also sixth on the Mount's games started list
with 95 career starts and can move into fifth place with two starts
and tie Amy Langville (97, 1993-97).

• Senior Leah Westbrooks has 533 career points to rank 50th
in program history and can move into 49th place with four points
and into 48th place with 14 points. Westbrooks also ranks 13th in

eighth place with four double-doubles.
• Junior Sandra Andresson currently sits in 61st place in
program history with 366 points and can move into 60th place with

• Sophomore Sydney Henderson has 160 career points to sit in

freshmen for one-two-three... Freshmen Jessie
Kaufman, Ashley Christie, Rachel Mathews and Kayla Grossett each
knocked down their first career shot attempt in the game against
Virginia.
• Kaufman gave the Mount a 3-2 lead with a 3-pointer 35
seconds into the game and Christie nailed 3-ball of her own to
reclaim the lead for the Mountaineers at 6-4 with 18:28 left in the
first half.
• Mathews recorded a 3-point play the traditional way after
scoring a layup at 15:55 and then converting the free throw to give
Mount St. Mary's a 9-7 advantage.
• Grossett nailed a 3-pointer on her first collegiate attempt
at 5:25 in the second half.
in their debut... The five freshmen each saw
action against Virginia on Nov. 14.
• Ashley Christie and Jessie Kaufman both made their
collegiate debut in the starting lineup. Christie posted 13 points,
including 10 in the second half, along with two rebounds and two
assists. Kaufman had eight points, three rebounds, an assist and a
block.
• Kayla Grossett, Rachel Mathews and Kelly Guerriero each saw
time off the bench. Grossett had six points and two rebounds while
Mathews had three points, three rebounds and an assist. Guerriero
played the final 1:55 and missed her own shot attempt. Guerriero
notched her first collegiate point in the second half against
American on Nov. 17.
tops in the league... Mount St. Mary's has
posted the most wins in the Northeast Conference since joining the
league in 1989-90 with 241 victories.
• The Mount has the third-most wins in league history,
trailing only Monmouth (253) and Saint Francis (Pa.) (247).

Bryan Whitten added freshman Ashley Christie, Kayla Grossett, Kelly
Guerriero, Jessie Kaufman and Rachel Mathews to the roster in
2010-11. Each player signed a National Letter of Intent last
season.
coaching changes... For the third-straight
season, head coach Bryan Whitten has made changes to his coaching
staff. Denise King and Lisa Steele both moved up a chair while
Whitten added Mount alumni Brianna Gauthier this season.
• King is in her second season at the Mount after serving as
an assistant coach at her alma mater, Rhode Island, for the last
four years.
• Steele is also in her second season at the Mount after
ending her four-year career at George Washington in 2008-09 after
registering 206 points and 107 rebounds with the Colonials.
• Gauthier returns to the Mount after serving as an assistant
coach under former Mount assistant Mark Zacher at Norwich, a
Division III school in Vermont. A 2009 graduate of the Mount, she
finished her career 18th in program history in all-time career
points (1,128), second in 3-pointers made (164), second in
3-pointers attempted (490) and ninth in assists (335). Gauthier
briefly played professionally in Sweden before joining the Norwich
coaching staff last season.
