Mount Update...The Mount lost three of four games at Long Island this past weekend to fall to 13-14 overall and 5-3 in the Northeast Conference. Junior right-hander Kent Worthington tossed seven shutout innings in the Mount's 9-0 win in the final game of the four-game set. Right fielder Shane Eyler continued to stay hot, belting two home runs in the series to give him a team-high eight home runs this season.

About the Terrapins...Maryland enters Tuesday's game with a 15-20 overall record and a 4-14 mark in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Terrapins are paced by A.J. Casario, who is hitting .339 with six home runs and 26 RBI. Mike Murphy is hitting .301 with team highs of eight home runs and 30 RBI. Maryland is 11-8 at home this year and is 6-0 against teams from the state of Maryland.

The All-Time Series vs. Maryland...The Mount is 1-9 all-time against Maryland since moving to NCAA Division I in 1989. Last year, the Terrapins defeated the Mount, 12-3, at Shipley Field on April 9. The Mount's lone win came on April 17, 2002, 9-2, at Maryland. The Mountaineers are 1-6 all-time against the Terrapins in College Park.

About the Nittany Lions...Penn State is 19-14 overall and 4-5 in the Big 10 Conference heading into tonight's game with Pittsburgh. The Nittany Lions are led by Jordan Steranka (.395, 3HR, 32 RBI) and Blake Lynd (.379) at the plate. On the mound, T.J. Macy is 2-2 with a 3.20 ERA in eight starts.

The All-Time Series vs. Penn State...The Mount won the only meeting between the two teams, 16-8, on April 18, 2007. Stephan Fay went 4-for-6 with three doubles and three RBI to pace the Mount to the victory. The Mount scored seven runs in the third inning to break a 3-3 tie and cruise to the victory.

Eyler Stays Hot...Sophomore right fielder Shane Eyler has cracked six home runs over the past nine games for the Mountaineers. Over that span, Eyler is hitting .424 with 14 RBI and nine runs scored. For the season, Eyler leads the team with a .372 average, eight home runs and 24 RBI while posting a .713 slugging percentage. Eyler is fifth in the NEC in batting average, tied for first in home runs, and second in slugging percentage.

Feigl Settling In...Freshman Brady Feigl struck out a season-high 11 batters in a complete-game loss to Long Island last Thursday. Feigl is 2-1 this season with a 2.90 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 31 innings of work. He is third in the NEC in earned run average.

Raising Kane...Sophomore Kyle Kane is hitting .452 (19-for-42) with 15 runs scored and 14 RBI over the past 12 games. He has raised his season average to .356 and is second on the team in runs scored (21), RBI (22) and home runs (four).

Worthington Tosses Gem...Junior right-hander Kent Worthington tossed seven shutout innings while allowing just one hit in the Mount's 9-0 win over Long Island in the final game of the four-game series. Worthington struck out six in the game and lowered his ERA to 3.95 on the season. Worthington is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA in two NEC starts this season, holding the opposition to a .163 average.
