In the opener, the Bears took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a Gowan RBI fielder's choice before the Mountaineers took the lead for good by scoring four runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth.

Everist started a four-run fourth with a double to center field before Christiansen gave Mount St. Mary's the lead for good on a two-run homer to center field. After Amanda Buckel (Finksburg, Md./North Carroll) scored on an error, Amanda Burk (Bristow, Va./Stonewall Jackson) plated Katie Donovan (Seabrook, Md./St. Vincent Palotti) on a groundout to second base for a 4-1 advantage.

The Mount added two runs in the fifth to increase the lead to 6-1. Everist again started the rally after being hit by the pitch. Christiansen singled to right field and Everist scored on the play thanks to an error. Jenna Zimmerman (Walkersville, Md./Walkerville) plated Christiansen on a run-scoring single to right field.

Morgan State cut the deficit to four runs on a Gowan homer in the sixth, but could get no closer.

In the nightcap, Mount St. Mary's rallied to tie the game at 5 in the top of the seventh, but the Bears scored the decisive run in the bottom of the stanza to come away with the 6-5 victory.

With the game tied at 5, Griffin singled through the left side and moved to third on a Gowan double to left field before Carolynn Howard singled down the left field line to plate Griffin with the game-winning run.

The Mount grabbed a 1-0 lead in the game in the first inning. Beebe doubled to center to lead off the game and then touched home on a passed ball.

Morgan State posted three runs in the bottom of the first to take a 3-1 edge. Lydia Walther-Rodriquez put the Bears on the scoreboard on a sacrifice fly before Gowan and Howard each doubled home a run to left center for a two-run lead.
