EDISON, N.J. (February 5, 2026) – On the eve of the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference baseball season, Mount St. Mary's was picked 5
th in the preseason coaches' poll. Sophomore
Serigne Sarre was also named to the Preseason All-MAAC Team for the upcoming season.
The Mountaineers improved by two spots in the preseason coaches' poll from 2025, elevated to 5
th place from last year's 7
th place. In 2025, the Mountaineers logged an overall record of 23-28 with a MAAC record of 15-13. Mount St. Mary's fell during the 2025 MAAC Championship single elimination round, losing 12-3 against Marist.
Lefthanded Pitcher
Serigne Sarre of Silver Spring, Maryland was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Team by the conference office as well. Sarre posted a record of 5-6 during 2025 while recording an ERA of 3.50 through 72.0 IP. The sophomore also logged 86 strikeouts on the year.
