EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 16, 2026) – Following a series of postponements, Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse is ready to battle Queens in a Tuesday afternoon matchup at Waldron Family Stadium.
MOUNT UPDATE
- Despite making a seven-goal push in the fourth quarter to tie the game, Mount fell to LIU 14-12 as the Sharks scored two late goals.
- Chris Grimaldi – a UMass transfer making his Mount St. Mary's debut – scored four times to lead the Mount. Collin Thomson, Carter Quested, and Kevin Whitty were all multi-goal scorers as well. Whitty added five assists for seven points.
- The team seeks a win in the home opener for the first time since 2022 – a 17-5 win over Hampton. In subsequent years the Mount has dropped home openers to Towson, NJIT, and LIU.
SCOUTING THE ROYALS
- Queens is playing their third game this season, splitting a win over Le Moyne and a loss to Vermont.
- Carter Petersen is the Royals' leader in points, with six goals and four assists. Ethan Scaffidi ties Petersen for the lead in goals, and Ryan McDaniel has the most assists with six.
- Boston Badraun has both starts in goal, compiling a total of 19 saves.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Mount St. Mary's and Queens met for the first time last year in Charlotte, with the Mountaineers winning 14-9.
Brody Atkinson posted six goals in the victory.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
This Saturday (Feb. 21), the Mount travels to Easton, Pennsylvania to challenge Lafayette. Faceoff is at 4 p.m. from Fisher Stadium.
