EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 12, 2026) – Following a tough first quarter, Mount St. Mary's women's basketball was unable to catch up against Fairfield, eventually falling 69-43 to the Stags at Knott Arena.
The Mount's bench posted 28 points, led by
Kayla Lindsey who finished with nine points. She was also the team's rebounding leader with seven.
Zaria Harleaux chipped in eight points across 16 minutes of play, and
Berlynn Carlson earned seven points.
Fairfield hit 16 three-pointers in the contest. Meghan Andersen led with 17 points, followed by Jillian Huerter with 15.
With the defeat, Mount St. Mary's is 12-13 and 8-8 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Fairfield is now 21-4 and 15-1 in league play.
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Fairfield started the contest on a 14-2 run and led 17-5 after one. The five points were the lowest total put up by the Mount in a quarter so far this season.
- Working to try and get back into the game, the Mountaineers started the second on a 6-2 burst. The sides hit the same number of buckets after that, but Fairfield's ability to hit the three gave the Stags a 31-17 halftime lead.
- A pair of three's from Fairfield's Andersen and Kaety L'Amoreaux lifted the Stags to a 20-point lead with their first two scores of the third quarter. For most of the rest of the game, Fairfield maintained that advantage.

Heading to Buffalo next week, the Mount battles Niagara on Thursday (Feb. 19) at 6 p.m. and Canisius at 1 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 21).
