EMMITSBURG, MD (October 9, 2026) – A pair of undefeated Metro Conference teams meet at Waldron Family Stadium at the PNC Sports Complex, as Mount St. Mary's men's soccer takes on Fairfield.
MOUNT UPDATE
Last Tuesday (Oct. 6), the team headed to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania to face Bucknell. Forced to the defensive end for much of the match, the Mount withstood the charge but did allow one goal in a 1-0 decision.
Lars Almankaas finished with two saves in his second career start.
Lincoln Bauer's point total of 11 leads the team, and the freshman had the last goal for the Mountaineers with a penalty to earn a 1-1 draw and remain undefeated in league play. Bauer is fifth in the Metro Conference for number of points and sixth in points per game.
SCOUTING THE STAGS
In what will be their ultimate season in the Metro before going to the CAA next year, Fairfield is off to a significant opening statement of a 4-0 start. Entering the week, there were three undefeated squads, but the Stags defeated Quinnipiac, 2-1, to leave them and the Mount standing.
At 20 goals, Fairfield is the leading offense in the Metro. Amongst Stags, Cristiano Carlos has the most points with five goals and five assists. In goal, Evan Chomow has 37 saves and a .787 percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
This is the fourth meeting between the Mount and Fairfield. The Mountaineers won a 2023 meeting, 2-1, and Fairfield took contests in 2022 and 2025.
