EMMITSBURG, MD (October 3, 2026) – In a feisty test of wills, Mount St. Mary's men's soccer earned a draw against the Merrimack Warriors. A penalty goal from
Lincoln Bauer in the 75
th minute provided the offense in a 1-1 final.
For Bauer, the goal is his third of the freshman season, matching him for the team lead with
Christian Kyriacou and
Daniel Morales Silva. Thanks to his five assists, Bauer leads outright with 11 points.
The result keeps the Mount undefeated in Metro Conference play with a record of 2-0-2. For the season, they are 2-2-6.
HOW THE MATCH UNFOLDED
- Merrimack held the upper hand in the first half, outpacing the Mountaineers 6-1 in shots. Mason Salvadge scored for the Warriors on a set piece in the 39th minute.
- The Mountaineers rallied in the second half as they worked hard to counter the aggressive play from the Warriors. One foul too many resulted in the penalty being awarded to the Mount, and Bauer planted the strike into the left corner of the net.
- Defense preserved the draw from there. As the clock ticked down, Felix Alschner ran down a breakaway attempt by Merrimack to prevent a potential game-winner.
