MOUNT STORY LINES
  • Mount St. Mary's saw Saint Peter's pull away in the final minutes in a 66-58 loss to the Peacocks on Friday night.  The Mount led 52-50 with just over six minutes left before Saint Peter's went on an 11-0 run to take the lead for good.  Justin Amadi led the Mount with 18 points and six rebounds off the bench while Xavier Lipscomb added 11 points in the loss.
  • Manhattan holds a 13-9 lead in the all-time series.  The teams split last year's season series with each winning on the road.  The Mount is 4-3 all-time at home against the Jaspers.  The all-time series between the Mount and Manhattan dates all the way back to the 1909-10 season.  The Mount fell to Manhattan, 26-18, at home on January 13, 1910, in the first all-time matchup.
  • The Mount and Manhattan are currently tied for ninth place in the MAAC standings with eight league games remaining, two and a half games ahead of 11th place Canisius (3-8).  This is the lone meeting of the year between the Mount and the Jaspers, so the winner will hold the tiebreaker edge between the two teams.  The top 10 teams in the regular season advance to the MAAC Tournament.
  • Mount St. Mary's has picked it up on the defensive end, holding the opposition to 65.3 points and 36.7 percent shooting over the past 11 games.  The Mount has held the opposition to under 36 percent shooting in six of the 11 games.
  • Justin Amadi led the Mount with 18 points off the bench in the loss to Saint Peter's on Friday, the fourth different leading scorer for the Mount over the past four games.  In all, seven different players have led the Mount in scoring this year:  Arlandus Keyes (7), Xavier Lipscomb (5), Amadi (4), Luke McEldon (4), Trey Deveaux (3), Abdou Khadre Kébé (1) and Patrick Haigh (1).
  • Xavier Lipscomb scored a career high 20 points in the Mount's 71-61 win over Rider, and is averaging 15.5 points over the past two games.  Lipscomb is 10-of-15 (.667) from the field and 6-of-10 (.600) from three-point range over the past two contests.
  • Since being inserted into the starting lineup six games ago, Abdou Khadre Kébé is averaging 8.0 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds.  Kébé has grabbed five or more rebounds in each of the past seven games while scoring in double figures twice over that span.
  • Up next, the Mount stay at home to host MAAC leader Merrimack on Thursday, February 5, at 7:00 p.m..  Fans can purchase tickets at www.mountathletics.com/tickets.
