MOUNT STORY LINES
  •  Mount St. Mary's lost at home to Siena, 67-50, on January 11.  Trey Deveaux was the lone Mountaineer in double figures with 12 points in the game.  Xavier Lipscomb hit a pair of free throws with 7:44 remaining to pull the Mount within two at 47-45, but the Saints were able to close out the game on a 20-to-5 run to earn the victory.  The Mount was held to 29.4 percent shooting in the game.
  • Mount St. Mary's holds a 6-2 lead in the all-time series with Canisius, including a 73-66 road win last year.  The Mount is 4-1 in MAAC regular season matchups with the Golden Griffins.  The two teams met in MAAC Tournament in each of the Mount's first two seasons in the league.  The Mount earned a 67-66 overtime win in 2023 while Canisius posted a 77-61 victory in 2024.
  • Mount St. Mary's is looking to turn things around on the road with the two-game Western New York trip.  The Mount is 2-9 on the road this season, including an 0-3 mark in the MAAC.  The Mount is allowing 78.7 points on the road this season on 44.4 percent shooting.  At home, the Mount is allowing 66.9 points on 36.5 percent shooting.
  • Xavier Lipscomb is shooting 91.3 percent (63-of-69) this season, good for 17th in the nation and second in the MAAC.  Lipscomb had his streak of 35 consecutive free throws snapped with a first-half miss against Siena.  He is 32-of-33 (.970) at the foul line in MAAC games this year.
  • Turnovers have been an issue for the Mountaineers this season, but has been better of late.  The Mount averaged 17.3 turnovers over the first 12 games this year, but has reduced that number to 14.8 over the past six games.  For the year, the Mount is 364th in the nation in turnover percentage at 23.5 percent.
  • The Mount has picked it up on the defensive end, holding the opposition to 37.4 percent shooting from the field and 28.7 percent shooting from three-point range over the past five games.  
  • Abdou Khadre Kébé has started each of the past two games for the Mountaineers, his first two collegiate starts.  The sophomore is averaging 10.5 points and 5.0 rebounds over that stretch, including a career-high 13-point effort in the Mount's 70-65 win over Saint Peter's.  Khadre Kébé is averaging 7.6 points and 3.3 rebounds on the season in nine games played.
