Mount St. Mary's Drops Home Game to Siena

Emmitsburg, Md. (January 11, 2026)--Mount St. Mary's fell at home to Siena, 67-50, on Sunday afternoon at Knott Arena.  Siena closed the game with a 20-5 run to pull away for the win.  Trey Deveaux led the Mountaineers with 12 points in the game.

The Mount (6-12, 2-5 MAAC) used a 6-0 run to take an early 11-10 advantage.  Arlandus Keyes hit a three-pointer with Deveaux scoring in the paint to put the Mount on top.  Siena countered with an 18-to-4 ru of its own to build a 28-15 lead with 4:39 left in the half.  Mount St. Mary's fought back with a 10-0 run before a Siena free throw gave the Saints a 29-25 advantage at the break.

Xavier Lipscomb hit a pair of free throws early in the second half to cut the Mount's deficit to 31-30, but Siena answered with the next seven points to rebuild the lead to eight.  The Mountaineers fought back, pulling within two on a pair of occasions, the final at 47-45 after a pair of Lipscomb free throws with 7:44 remaining.  The Saints were able to hold off the Mount by closing the game with a 20-to-5 run for the victory.

Deveaux finished the game with 12 points and four rebounds as the lone Mountaineer in double figures.  Abdou Khadre Kebe and Luke McEldon added eight points each with Keyes and Lipscomb each scoring seven in the loss.  Justice Shoats led all scorers with 18 points while Francis Folefac tallied 15 in the win.

The Mount shot just 29.4 percent (15-of-51) in the game, including 6-of-27 (.222) from beyond the three-point arc.  Siena finished the game shooting 41.8 percent (23-of-55), hitting 7-of-23 (.304) from three-point range.  

GAME NOTES
  • Siena now holds an 8-to-3 lead in the all-time series, including a 4-3 mark in MAAC regular season meetings.
  • Xavier Lipscomb had his consecutive free throws made streak snapped at 35 when he missed in the first half.  Lipscomb was 7-for-8 at the line in the game.
  • The Mount drops to 4-3 at home this year.
