USAFA, Colo. (August 30, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's water polo split their doubleheader in Colorado on Saturday night, falling to Biola by a score of 13-10 and beating Redlands by a score of 17-15. With the split, the Mountaineers move to 1-2
Against the Eagles, the Mountaineers stretched out to a 2-1 lead in the first quarter, with
Jack Fox and
Wes Reising scoring the opening efforts for the Mount.

Nate Valentine, and
Alexandros Belesis finding the net in the second despite heading into halftime down 6-5.
Gunner Lanquist continued his good run of form in the third, scoring a goal in the third followed by a hat trick completing two goals from Belesis to head into the final break down 10-8. Belesis along with
Aaron Tarr found the net in the forth, rounding out the final efforts in the loss to the Eagles.
In game two against Redlands, the Mountaineers jumped out to a 5-4 lead thanks to a first quarter hat trick from Belesis and solo goals from
Nikolaos Agritelis and
Ioannis Skliras. The second quarter yielded another three goals from Belesis as well as a solo from Tarr and Valentine, adding the Mount's 10-7 lead at halftime.
Skliras opened up the Mountscoring in the third followed by a goal from Belesis. The two Greeks went onto score three more goals in the quarter, including a first ever Mount hat trick for Skliras to take a 15-11 lead into the final quarter. Redlands scored quick to start the quarter, but goals from Valentine and Tarr stifled any real attempt at the lead, ensuring the first Mountaineer win of 2025. Against Redlands, Belesis scored eight goals while providing two assists to his teammates. Skliras notched his first Mount hat trick with a four goal afternoon. And
Sherif Hosni made seven saves in goal against the Bulldogs in the second game of the afternoon.
