EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 28th, 2025) – This Friday, August 29
th, begins the 2025 cross country season for Mount St. Mary's as they host the annual Mount 5K Duals on the PNC Sports Complex Grounds. The meet begins at 11 a.m. with the men's race, followed by the women's event. Runners start and finish in the open field opposite the Waldron Family Stadium.

MOUNT UPDATE: The Mountaineers open the season with 43 student-athletes on their roster – divided into 27 men and 16 women, 13 of them being new additions. Athletes will run five meets over the course of the season, followed by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships.

5K DUALS HISTORY:Â Â Â Friday marks the 19
th occasion the Mount has opened the season by hosting the 5K Duals. On the women's side, Navy has won the most titles with six, followed by American with five, Johns Hopkins (2), George Washington (2), UMBC (2), and Maryland and Howard winning once. On the men's side, American has won the title six times, UMBC (5), George Washington (4), Navy (2), and Johns Hopkins, Maryland, and the Mount once.
