EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 11, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine
Troy Gerlt announces the hiring of four new Assistant Athletic Trainers ahead of 2025-26 season.
Carydad Bolivar comes on board as the athletic trainer for men's basketball, cheer, and dance. A graduate of Florida State and Virginia, Bolivar spent the past year working with the spirit squads of the University of Tennessee. She also earned clinical experience with a variety of teams, including Virginia men's lacrosse, football, and softball. At Florida State, she worked with men's basketball and track & field along with a stint with Tennessee men's basketball.
Sydney Hash joins the Mount as the school's AT for baseball and track & field. She earned her master's degree at Towson following a bachelor's degree from Salisbury. Coming with her is a bevy of student clinical experience, with opportunities with the Aberdeen IronBirds and the Baltimore Orioles during spring training in her final semester. Additional experience came with Johns Hopkins women's soccer, Towson football, and the Friends School of Baltimore.
Hailey Kortman now serves as the athletic trainer for women's rugby, cross country, and men's water polo. She is a recent graduate of Moravian University, finishing a Master's degree. Clinical experience include roles with Lehigh men's lacrosse, fall sports at SUNY Morrisville, football and basketball at Albright, spring sports at Centenary University, and fall sports at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Kortman also served several roles at St. Luke's Health in Bethlehem.
Deanna Laubach is the university's new AT for men's lacrosse as well as the golf and tennis teams. She comes to the Mount after working three years at Southern Connecticut State University. While there her primary assignments include women's soccer, women's basketball, baseball, and women's volleyball. Laubach also earned work experience as a Physical Therapy Aide with Premier Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. She is a graduate of West Chester University, earning a Master's and bachelor's degree from the institution.
