EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 6, 2025) – After being dug a 15-0 hole, Mount St. Mary's women's basketball almost came all the way back in a thrilling showdown at Knott Arena. The visiting Quinnipiac Bobcats walked away with a 64-60 win Thursday evening.
Anna LeMaster sparked a fourth quarter charge with 13 points.
Jo Raflo added 12 and
Gabrielle Kennerly finished with 11. Raflo and
Jaedyn Jamison tied for the rebounding lead with six apiece.
Quinnipiac had five players in double figures and a 14-point, 11 rebound double-double from Gal Rviv.
A late run in the second quarter pushed a double-digit advantage down to nine points by halftime. A jumper from
Madison Ruff and foul shots from LeMaster made it 31-22 Bobcats at the break. Quinnipiac established a healthy advantage again before LeMaster, Hoddinott, and a three-pointer by
Nyodie Guerard made it 48-41 entering the fourth.
LeMaster hit a triple to open the final frame, and Guerard backed up her first three with another one to pull within 54-49. The game ping-ponged back to 60-52, when the Mount made one more push for the lead. Kennerly hit a jumper, and LeMaster followed with an and-one to put the game within a single possession. Rviv hit a layup, but LeMaster replied with a contested three. Quinnipiac hit two foul shots, and the Mount was unable to answer as the seconds ticked away.
The regular season concludes with a game against Marist on Saturday (March 8). Tip-off is at 2 p.m. from Poughkeepsie.
