Emmitsburg, MD (March 27, 2025) – The Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse team travels to New York to take on the Siena Saints on Saturday, March 29 at noon. This will be the fourth Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest for the Mount and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Mount Update
The Mountaineers are coming off a close loss to the Marist Red Foxes last Saturday (Mar. 22), 13-12. The Mountaineers almost came back from a nine-goal deficit, scoring seven goals in the final quarter of play.
Brody Atkinson and
Jack Smith each added three goals to the effort, while
Aidan Kilduff and
Kevin Whitty tallied two goals each. Freshmen
Carter Quested and
Collin Thomson combined for two of the Mount's goals. Goalkeeper
Bennett Wright took to the cage for his ninth game in a row. Wright saved 16 of the 29 shots on goal, accruing a .551 save percentage in the contest. The Mountaineers scored two late-game goals to bring the score within one, but after a Marist timeout with possession, the Red Foxes were able to run the clock down and secure their win.
Scouting the Saints
The Saints took the win against MAAC opponent Merrimack on Wednesday (Mar. 26), 16-8. Pratt Reynolds scored eight of the team's goals, added an assist, and three groundballs. Conor Hufnagel and Travis Fry each added a hat-trick for Siena, and Patrick Radomski and Ryan McCarthy combined for two goals. The Saints now sit at 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the MAAC. Siena was also able to beat Iona but lost to Sacred Heart.
Up Next for the Mountaineers
The Mount will return home next Saturday (April 5) to take on Canisius at Waldron Family Stadium. This contest will come before a two-game road trip for the team, traveling to Merrimack and Sacred Heart. The Mountaineers will return home for their final game of the regular season on April 23, facing off against Iona.
