EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 18, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's looks to return to winning form and notch its first home victory in a Wednesday game with the Towson Tigers.

MOUNT UPDATE
  • Enduring a tough weekend against UAlbany and Army, the Mountaineers dropped each of the four games they played.
  • Leading hitter Avery Dinges is out with an injury, so the next leading hitter is now sophomore Taylor Williams. The Loudon County native is batting .308 for the season. Junior Tristan Koerner is the top power hitter with five extra base hits – four doubles and a home run.
  • Freshman Ellie Meier has secured three of the team's five victories so far. Olivia Murphy has pitched the highest number of innings while Sophia Schmehl has the most strikeouts.
  • Wednesday's matchup marks the last tuner before Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play begins. The next time the Mount lines up against a non-conference opponent will be April 23 against George Mason.
SCOUTING TOWSON
  • The Tigers began play in the Coastal Athletic Association, going 3-3 in their first two series. In their most recent series, Towson took two of three from Hofstra.
  • This is their second game this week, as the Tigers defeated Coppin State by a 10-2 final on Tuesday. Cara Bohner had three hits in the triumph with four runs driven in.
  • Entering the game Tuesday, Towson's leading hitter was Kristin Toland, batting .333 with four homers and 21 RBIs. Amanda Medina serves as their most featured pitcher, tabulating 58 innings with three wins and a 4.83 ERA.
ALL-TIME SERIES
  • Towson holds the all-time series, 40-8-1. Last season, the Mount took a 7-2 victory in Baltimore County. A four-run fifth inning pushed the Mountaineers to the win.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
  • MAAC play begins with Fairfield and a three-game series. There will be a doubleheader Saturday (Mar. 22) and a single game Sunday (Mar. 23). All games will be in Emmitsburg.
