MOUNT STORY LINES
- Mount St. Mary's outlasted Marist, 62-58, to advance to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference semifinals. Dola Adebayo recorded his fourth double-double over the past five games to lead the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jedy Cordilia and Arlandus added 11 points each in the victory. The Mount took the lead at 5-4, and led the rest of the way. Leading 27-19 at the half, Marist cut the gap to 30-28 before a 14-to-4 Mount run made it 54-42. Marist against cut the deficit to two, 57-55, but Xavier Lipscomb's three-point play with just under a minute left made it a five-point game. The Mount made key free throws from there to secure the win.
- Mount St. Mary's earned its 20th win of the season with the victory over Marist in the MAAC Quarterfinals. The 20 wins are the most by a Mount team since the 2016-17 squad finished with a 20-16 record. This is just the third time in 37 seasons in NCAA Division I that the Mountaineers have won 20 or more games. The Mount's best D1 record was 21-8 in 1995-96.
- The Mount's 66-58 win over Merrimack on January 31 was it's sixth in a row against the Warriors. The Mount is 7-1 all-time against Merrimack.
- The Mountaineers have a 2-2 all-time record in the MAAC Tournament. In the team's third season in the MAAC, the Mountaineers have advanced to the MAAC semifinals for the first time.
- Dola Adebayo was named Second Team All-MAAC on Monday. Adebayo has had a breakout season for the Mountaineers, averaging 13.3 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 52.9 percent from the field. The redshirt junior has scored in double figures a team-high 26 times this season with his first four career 20-point efforts. Adebayo had 19 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Marist in the quarterfinals, his fourth double-double over the past five games. He is averaging 17.2 points and 10.8 rebounds over the five-game stretch.
- The Mount is 9-3 since January 31, the best record in the MAAC over that span. Quinnipiac, Iona and Manhattan are 8-4 over that span while Merrimack has a 7-5 mark.
- A win will move the Mount to the MAAC Championship game on Saturday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m.
