Mountaineers Put Win Streak on the Line at Fairfield on Friday

MOUNT STORY LINES
  • Mount St. Mary's stretched its win streak to four with a 79-72 victory over Rider at home on Sunday.  Dallas Hobbs and Terrell Ard Jr. each scored 13 points as the Mountaineers had six players reach double figures in scoring in the victory.  The Mount rallied from a nine-point first half deficit to take a 34-30 lead at the half on a Carmelo Pacheco three at the buzzer.  The Mount used a 9-0 run in the second half to build a double-digit lead and en route to the victory.  Dola Adebayo and Xavier Lipscomb contributed 11 points and eight rebounds each, while Jedy Cordilia and Pacheco each tallied 10.
  • Mount St. Mary's snapped a four-game losing streak to Fairfield with a 101-94 victory at Knott Arena on December 8.  The Stags hold a 4-2 lead in the all-time series, including a 4-1 mark in MAAC regular season matchups.
  • Mount St. Mary's has won four games in a row overall and four consecutive road contests.  The Mount is looking to win five games in a row for the first time since a six-game win streak from Jan. 17 thru Feb. 3, 2022.  The Mount has not won five road games in a row since the 2016-17 season.
  • The Mount had six players score in double figures in the 79-72 win over Rider, the second time this season the Mountaineers have had six double figure scorers in a game.  The Mount improved to 14-0 this season when four or more players have reached double figures in a game, and is 17-4 when having three or more.
  • Terrell Ard Jr. is averaging 11.8 points and 9.3 rebounds over the past four games after missing the previous seven due to injury.  The Mount is 15-6 when Ard Jr. is in the lineup this season, including 8-1 in MAAC games.  He averaged 15.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in wins over Saint Peter's and Rider last weekend.
  • Mount St. Mary's has outrebounded the opposition in each of the past seven games, posting a 6-1 record over that span.  The Mount has a +11.1 re bound margin over seven-game stretch, averaging 39.3 rebounds compared to the opponents 28.1.  Mount St. Mary's is 13-4 this season when holding the rebound advantage.
