Lawrenceville, NJ (February 22, 2025) - The Mountaineers women's basketball team ends its road trip on a high note with a win over Rider, 76-49. This moves the Mount to 13-12 overall and 11-5 in MAAC play. With this win, the Mountaineers stay in fourth place in the MAAC standings with three weeks until the playoffs in Atlantic City.

The Mountaineers shot the ball well tonight, with four players scoring in double digits.
Anna LeMaster led the team with 17 points, sinking four of her eleven three-pointers. On defense, LeMaster played aggressively, stealing the ball five times from the Rider offense.
Gabrielle Kennerly followed close behind, scoring 15 points, hitting five of eleven shots and one three-pointer.
Jo Raflo contributed 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
Madison Ruff excelled in the sixth-man role, scoring 11 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and recording two steals in 21 minutes of play. Gianna Hoddinott matched LeMaster's five steals and added seven points. Â

The Mountaineers won the game on the defensive end. Aided by 18 steals, they forced Rider to commit 33 turnovers. The Mount capitalized on Rider's collapse, scoring 39 points off turnovers. Winner Bartholomew led Rider in scoring with 15 points and six rebounds. She turned the ball over six times, a total matched by Gabby Turco. Turco scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Anna LeMaster opened the scoring for the Mount with a three-pointer off a Raflo feed just 20 seconds into the game. Five minutes later, Raflo scored her first bucket, giving the Mount a 5-0 lead. After one more basket from the Mount, Rider responded and took the lead to end the quarter. The Mount found their rhythm in the second quarter, outscoring Rider 17-13 and heading into the locker room with a 27-24 lead. The Mountaineers began to pull away after halftime, allowing Rider only nine points in the third while scoring 26. Rider shot a poor 4-15 in the fourth quarter, and the Mount secured the win, 76-49.
Mount St. Mary's takes on MAAC leader Fairfield Thursday (Feb. 27) at Knott Arena.
