Jersey City, NJ (February 20, 2025) - Mount St. Mary's women's basketball fell to the Saint Peter's Peacocks Thursday, 70-54. After the loss the Mount stands at 12-12 overall, and 10-5 in MAAC play.
Anna LeMaster led the Mount's offense in this evening's contest, tallying 15 points, two assists, and three three-pointers made.
Gabrielle Kennerly was able to score ten points for the Mountaineers, making two of the four three pointers shot, and one steal.
Madison Ruff showed hustle on the boards grabbing nine rebounds, tying her career high. She added to the Mount's scoring with nine points, five of them coming from the charity stripe.Â

Saint Peter's had three players in double digits, with Laila Grant leading the pack. She totaled 18 points, all coming from beyond the arc. Grant grabbed four rebounds, dished the ball for three assists, and tallied one steal for the Peacocks. Fatmata Janneh followed closely with 17 points. Janneh dominated the glass with 15 rebounds and one block. She assisted her teammates nine times. Linda Amaning partnered with Janneh underneath, grabbing nine rebounds herself. She scored 16 points, going 8-9 from the floor.Â
The Mount was outscored early as Saint Peter's scored the first eight points of the game. A three pointer by
Nyodie Guerard halted the Peacocks run temporarily. The Mount would score only ten more points all quarter allowing the Peacocks to develop a nine point advantage to end the first, 22-13. The second quarter would bring no peace for the Mountaineers as they were outscored 23-9 going into the locker room for the break. After losing the third quarter, the Mount seemed to gain some legs in the fourth. The Mount would shoot 8-14 in the final quarter, hitting three of their seven three-pointers shot. The Mountaineers were able to outscore the Peacocks in the final quarter 26-12, but would prove to be too little too late.Â
The Mount will play one more on the road against Rider on Saturday February 22, before returning home to take on Fairfield on Thursday, February 27.Â
